  • Patent number: 6076446
Abstract: The present invention provides a carriage reciprocating mechanism permitting easy reversal of the traveling direction of a carriage without changing the rotating direction of a motor or the traveling direction of an endless belt, and without rotating of the carriage itself, when the carriage reaches the end point of travel. The carriage can reverse the traveling direction thereof at the end point of travel by movement in only one direction of an endless belt stretched between a driving pulley arranged at one end of the frame and a follower pulley arranged at the other end thereof. Particularly, a reciprocating mechanism of a sheet-cutting device may have a carriage or a tool post provided allowing movement across a sheet to be cut relative to a frame. A rotary blade of the sheet-cutting device is supported by bearings on the tool post.

  • Patent number: 5904085
Abstract: An improved sheet material cutting apparatus having a construction in which a rotary blade and a fixed blade are mounted on the housing of a supporting member. The rotary blade inclining forward only during cutting of the sheet material, and the rotary blade being lifted up from the fixed blade during travel when not cutting the sheet material. The sheet material cutting apparatus is provided with a rotation mechanism for rotating the rotary blade. The rotation mechanism, preferably is a roller arranged in a roller housing hole formed in the housing of the supporting member.

  • Patent number: 5603251
Abstract: A screw shaft supporting structure capable of absorbing elongation of a screw shaft due to changes in environmental temperatures irrespective of the position of the rotary blade on said screw shaft is disclosed. In the sheet material cutting device, that portion of the screw shaft which is supported by a bushing and another portion thereof supported by a frame end absorbs elongation of the screw shaft due to heat. When the supporting member holding the rotary blade is positioned at A in FIG. 1, elongation of the screw shaft due to thermal expansion is absorbed in a gap formed between the stepped portion of the screw shaft and the frame end. When the supporting member holding the rotary blade is positioned at B in FIG. 1, elongation of the screw shaft due to thermal expansion is absorbed in a gap S1 formed between the stepped portion of the screw shaft and the bushing.

  • Patent number: 5503053
Abstract: A sheet material cutting mechanism for cutting sheet materials two rotary blades and a mechanism for pressing down a sheet material to be cut. When the motor is started, a screw shaft 2 rotates, and a rotary blade assembly 4 starts to move to the right in FIG. 1 . Then, the roller 12 rotates by friction with a frame 1, and a first rotary blade 10 rotates by the rotation of a roller. At the same time, a second rotary blade 20 also rotates by the frictional force generated between the rubber roller 22 and the frame 1. The sheet material, fed into the sheet material receiving portion 17, is pressed by the rubber roller 22 against the surface 5 of the frame 1 immediately before cutting to prevent lifting or bending of the sheet material, thereby producing satisfactory cutting of the sheet material.

  • Patent number: 5307716
Abstract: A sheet material cutter which cuts a sheet material by the cooperation of a circular rotary cutting blade moving while rotating and a long sheet-shaped fixed cutting blade, and provides a sheet material cutter, having a simple construction. The device permits satisfactory cutting of a strip-shaped sheet material such as paper by simply causing the rotary cutting blade to incline by an angle necessary for cutting, both in forward and backward motions of the rotary cutting blade, by the cooperation of the circular rotary cutting blade moving while rotating, a roller for rotating this rotary cutting blade and a roller guide.
