  • Patent number: 5805371
Abstract: A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus includes a mechanism body, a control circuit, and a memory circuit. The mechanism body has a loading mechanism, a tape traveling mechanism, and a reel revolution count detection mechanism for outputting a signal corresponding to a revolution count of the reel. The control circuit drive-controls the loading mechanism and the tape traveling mechanism, calculates a cumulative revolution count of the reel from an output of the reel revolution count detection mechanism, and controls recording and reproduction of data, including a video signal and a track number, on and from the magnetic tape. The memory circuit stores the cumulative revolution count of the reel and the track number upon recording and reproduction of the data on and from the magnetic tape.

  • Patent number: 5432658
Abstract: In a rotary-magnetic-head dynamic track following device of the present invention, a coil for generating a controlling magnetic field that shifts a magnetic head along its rotation axis, a magnet for generating a constant magnetic field, a yoke section for allowing the constant magnetic field to form a closed loop (for example, an upper yoke and a lower yoke) are installed in a ring shape around the rotation axis. The lower drum also functions as a fixed drum. A head support member, which has spiral grooves formed along its outer edge section, is fixed to the bottom face of the outer circumferential wall of the upper drum. The upper drum and a rotary transformer core section are fixed to a rotary cylinder, and thus rotated together with a motor section and the head support member as one unit.

  • Patent number: 5036412
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus which includes a set of loading members for drawing out a magnetic tape accommodated in a tape cassette and wound around a set of reels disposed to contact the same plane. The tape storing portions of the tape cassette are directed along part of the outer peripheral surface of a rotary head cylinder in an approximately M-shape, and a single inclining member is provided in the vicinity of one tape storing portion for causing a tape travelling reference face of the magnetic tape drawn out from the tape storing portion to be inclined.
