  • Publication number: 20050075270
Abstract: Piperidin-2-ylacetic acid (II) is efficiently and safely produced in industrial scale by treating piperidin-2-ylethanol (I) with 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl, sodium hypochlorite and sodium chlorite in a two phase solvent comprising an organic solvent and water without using strongly toxic chromium trioxide.

  • Patent number: 5959399
Abstract: After adhesive resin is applied to a surface of a flat panel, a front panel is glued thereto. One side of the front panel is contacted to the adhesive resin layer with the front panel tilted toward the surface of the flat panel. Then, the front panel is moved slowly to be close and parallel to the front panel. Finally, the front panel is pressed to the surface of the flat panel. Afterward, the adhesive resin is hardened. It is preferable that the thickness of the adhesive resin applied to the surface of the flat panel is decreasing from the side to which the side of the front panel is contacted, to the opposite side. By the above-mentioned method, an image display apparatus having multilayer structure comprising of a flat panel for displaying image, an adhesive resin layer and a front panel can be manufactured efficiently.

  • Patent number: 5928047
Abstract: A planar member for a shadow mask is provided, which is hard to generate wrinkles in or break when being pulled at four sides to apply a tension to a beam-selecting area with beam-passing apertures. The planar member comprises the beam-selecting area, a first band frame portion surrounding the beam-selecting area, a second band frame portion disposed around and spaced from the first band frame, a plurality of bridge portions bridging the first and second band frame portions at plural points, and a plurality of outer areas with plural apertures, defined by the first and second band frame portions and two bridge portions. The connecting part of the bridge portion with the second band frame portion is reinforced in such a way that the width of the bridge portion increases gradually to connect with the second band frame portion.

  • Patent number: 5742116
Abstract: In a color cathode ray tube apparatus, a shadow mask is fixed on a frame with a predetermined tension for cancelling a thermal expansion of the shadow mask during normal operation of the color cathode ray tube apparatus. The mechanical strength of the longer sides on the frame is higher than that of the shorter sides of the frame by fixing reinforcing plates or ribs on the longer sides in order that the tension of the shadow mask not become uneven.

  • Patent number: 5532545
Abstract: In the bulb of a color cathode ray tube, a flat glass panel having a substantially uniform thickness is used. The flat glass panel has a glass wall which extends in a substantially vertical direction from the flat glass panel. The glass wall adheres to a funnel, which includes a neck portion in which an electron gun is disposed, by means of a glass adhesive so as to form the bulb. A shadow mask on which a number of apertures are formed is fixed to a frame with an appropriate tensile stress and the frame is mounted on the glass wall. The shadow mask is disposed at a position close to the phosphor screen formed on the inner surface of the flat glass panel, facing thereto. On the outer surface of the flat glass panel, a resin film comprising at least one layer is attached by means of an adhesive. The resin film has appropriate mechanical, optical and electrical properties with which the flat glass panel should have. Thus, various properties of the flat glass panel can be controlled.

  • Patent number: 4143293
Abstract: A color television tube assembly in which the aperture of a control grid of each electron gun is made in the form of an ellipse with its major axis in line with the vertical direction, and the lengths of the vertical and horizontal axes of the aperture of action space of an electron lens electrode are selected different from each other, whereby the beam spot at the center of the screen may become in the form of a vertically elongated ellipse while the beam spots at the horizontal and vertical edges of the screen are in the form of a horizontally elongated ellipse.
