Abstract: Disclosed is an absorbent article including: a liquid permeable surface member; a backing sheet; and an absorbent layer interposed between the surface member and the backing sheet. The surface member includes an upper layer located at a liquid-receiving side surface and a lower layer located adjacent to the absorbent layer. The upper layer is formed of first continuous filaments. The lower layer is formed of second continuous filaments. The first and second continuous filaments individually extend over the entire length of the surface member. Hydrophilicity of the lower layer is higher than that of the upper layer.

Abstract: Disclosed is an absorbent article including: a liquid permeable surface layer formed of continuous filaments individually extending over the entire length of the surface layer, the continuous filaments including at least heat-fusible continuous filaments; a backing sheet; and a fibrous absorbent core located between the surface layer and the backing sheet and containing heat-fusible fibers. Between the surface layer and the fibrous absorbent core, disposed is an absorbent sheet which is formed of superabsorbent polymer to have a plurality of through passages. The surface layer and the fibrous absorbent core are partially fusion-bonded to each other via the through passages formed in the absorbent sheet for retaining the absorbent sheet between the surface layer and the fibrous absorbent core.

Abstract: Disclosed is an absorbent article including: a liquid permeable surface structural body; a backing sheet; an absorbent core disposed between the surface structural body and the backing sheet. The surface structural body is formed by stacking bundles of continuous filaments into at least two layers and partially fixing the continuous filaments of the respective layers together. The individual continuous filaments extend over the entire length of the respective layers. The layers include: a lower layer positioned adjacent to the absorbent layer; and an upper layer positioned away from the absorbent layer and having a smaller width than that of the lower layer. The upper layer is located exclusively at a center portion or laterally opposite side portions of the lower layer.

Abstract: There is disclosed an absorbent article including: a liquid permeable surface sheet; a backing sheet; and an absorbent layer located between the surface sheet and the backing sheet. The backing sheet includes a liquid impermeable base sheet and a layer of continuous filaments individually extending along a longitudinal direction of the absorbent article and stacked on an outer surface of the base sheet. The base sheet and the continuous filament layer are partially fixed.

Abstract: A mechanical fastener including a loop member includes a base sheet and a plurality of continuous filaments extending substantially parallel one to another on one surface of the base sheet substantially parallel one direction and the filaments are bonded to the base sheet along at least a pair of bonding zones extending transversely of the filaments to form a plurality of loop elements extending between the pair of bonding zones.

Abstract: A disposable sanitary garment includes a chassis defining an outer surface thereof, the chassis is provided along its transversely opposite side edge portions destined to extend around a wearer's thighs with a pair of first leg-hole elastic members extending circumferentially around the thighs and with a pair of second leg-hole elastic members describing a circular arc being convex inwardly of the garment. The chassis is folded back inwardly of the garment along one side edges of the respective members with the second leg-hole elastic members inside and a portion of the chassis extending inside the zone along which the chassis has been first folded back is folded back along the other side edges of the respective members.

Abstract: A disposal tape securing arrangement used to secure a disposable body fluid absorbent article such as a disposable diaper in a rolled up state for disposal includes an adhesive tape and a release tape. The adhesive tape is fixed at one end portion to the outer surface of the article and has an adhesive zone on the opposite end portion (i.e., free end portion). The release tape extends in alignment with the adhesive tape and has a release portion fixed to the outer surface of the article and a fold-back portion being contiguous to the release portion and folded back adjacent the end of the adhesive tape. The adhesive zone provided on the adhesive tape is releasably bonded to the release portion and the fold-back portion of the release tape is fixed to the inner surface of the free end portion of the adhesive tape.

Abstract: A web intended to be used as a topsheet or a backsheet defining front and rear sections and a crotch section extending therebetween in a disposable garment is continuously fed in its longitudinal direction, and a width of the web is divided in two halves along a longitudinally extending cutting line describing a curve approximate to a sine curve in and thus two webs are obtained. These two webs are transversely spaced from each other by a predetermined dimension and one of these two webs is longitudinally shifted relatively to the other by 1/2 period. Thereafter, these two webs are joined together in their overlapping regions. The two webs thus joined together is cut for every period with each pair of such overlapping regions lying in a middle of this period. The invention can thereby provide the topsheet or the backsheet without any waste pieces cut therefrom.

The exposed areas are welded to each of the liquid passages around lower openings thereof so as to protect the liquid passage against collapse and clogging. The upper sheet cooperates with the lower sheet to define cavities extending in the direction of the topsheet thickness.
