Abstract: An image printing apparatus and its control method for printing an image based on image data from an image data source. In a case where a correction condition is set for the image data, if the image data is a new format file image data including predetermined information, correction processing is performed in accordance with the set correction condition. If the image data is not a new format file image data, the correction processing in accordance with the correction condition is not performed.

Abstract: There is provided a print system for transmitting and receiving a data object by a PTP between a camera-equipped mobile phone (CP) and a PD printer and printing an image by the PD printer according to image data supplied from the CP. First information indicating presence/absence of the direct print function capable of printing by transmitting image data from the CP directly to the PD printer and second information indicating presence/absence of the cooperated processing function with the CP and the PD printer are embedded in a data object which is transmitted and received. When it is judged that the received object contains the first and the second information, the CP and the printer are set to the direct print function and the cooperated processing function mode.

Abstract: A printing apparatus 1000 records an image on a recording medium. The printing apparatus is provided with communication means for communicating with a digital camera 3012, digital camera recognizing means for recognizing the digital camera 3012, and status display means for displaying the operation status of the printing apparatus 1000. In a status where the status display means is displaying a status wherein a power supply is turned off, the communicating means communicates with the digital camera 3012. When the digital camera is recognized by the digital camera recognizing means, a display by the status display means can be changed from the printing apparatus side.

Abstract: In a case where a digital camera cannot understand or recognize a request received from a printer, the camera ignores the received request and discards the received request, and transmits a command that does not include any user instruction or print operation to the printer in place of the correct response to the request. In such case, the printer receives the command as the response to the request, and recognizes that the request transmitted by the printer cannot be accepted by the camera.

Abstract: An adapter capable of communicating with an image supply device and an image output device and allowing direct printing even when a plurality of images are transferred at the same time from image supply devices. The adapter transmits a print request associated with a first image to the image output device. If acquisition of a second image is completed before acquisition of the first image completed, the adapter transfers the second image instead of the first image as the image to be printed.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus comprising a power unit, a first control unit and a second control unit in which power supply is controlled based on a control signal from the first control unit, wherein when electric power supply from the power supply unit has been stopped and then the electric power supply from the power supply unit has been started, if update of a memory of the first control unit has been instructed, the first control unit transfers the content of a flash ROM in the first control unit into the memory thus updates the content of the memory. At this time, the second control unit is kept in a power-off status by a control signal line until the update of the memory is completed. After the completion of the update, power-on is notified by the control signal line, and the reset status of the second control unit is released.

Abstract: When a DSC and PD printer are directly connected via a communication interface, and a recording process in the PD printer is interrupted while transmitting image from the DSC to the PD printer and recording the image data, the DSC designates the restart of recording process and it is determined whether the type of PD printer is a type capable of restarting recording process. In a case where the type is determined to be the type capable of restarting recording process and a DPOF file is being printed, the DPOF file is resent to designate print from a page next to the printed page. In a mode in which image data are sequentially transmitted to the printer and printed, print process of image data subsequent to the printed image data is designated.

Abstract: In a recording system in which a DSC and PD printer are directly connected via a communication interface, and image data is transmitted from the DSC to the PD printer and recorded, it is determined whether predetermined status information is received from the PD printer within a predetermined time period after the DSC issues a predetermined command to the PD printer. If it is determined that the predetermined status information is not received, the status is determined to be one estimated from a normal process, and a process continues. To confirm the status of the PD printer, the DSC requests status information of the PD printer, and acquires the status of the PD printer on the basis of the status information sent back in response to the request.

Abstract: A DSC 1 (3012) and a DSC 2 (2012) are connected with each other via an interface different from that of a photo-direct printer 1000. When the job controller 1023 receives a job from the DSC 1 or DSC 2, it stores printing information, which is information on the job, and information on a source of the job, in a queuing buffer 1024 associated with each other. The job controller 1023 can accept printing information from the DSC 1 or the DSC 2 in parallel with a printing process. The job controller 1023 can also perform a canceling process of a job queued by using information on a source.

Abstract: A digital camera has a storage medium which stores imagedata and a DPOF associated with a print process of the image data, acquires information associated with the function of a printer upon connection of that printer, sets a CDPS job command associated with the print process of the image data on the basis of the acquired information associated with the functions, sets a print condition for the printer on the basis of the DPOF and CDPS command, and sends a print instruction. The printer acquires image data stored in the storage medium in accordance with the designated print condition and prints the image data.

Abstract: A printing system in which a DSC and a PD printer are directly connected to each other via a general interface, image data is transmitted from the DSC to the PD printer, and the data is printed, wherein the number of offset bytes and a data amount of the image data are designated from a print controller to a storage controller to specify partial image data, the storage controller reads the partial image data from the storage device of the DSC based on the specification, the partial image data is supplied to a print controller of the PD printer, and printing is performed.

Abstract: According to this invention, an intended image is transferred and printed even in a system which transfers image data by a handle upon reception of a print request list described by the file name of an image. In order to realize this, according to this invention, when a DPOF print request file which describes an image to be printed by the file name of the image exists in the memory card of a digital camera (3012) serving as an image supply side, a new file in which the file name in the print request file is replaced by a handle is generated and transmitted to a printer (1000).

Abstract: A physical layer which depends on hardware of a general-purpose interface determines whether an image supply device supports a predetermined communication protocol. A transport layer which controls communication as an upper layer of the physical layer determines whether the image supply device supports the predetermined communication protocol. When either of the physical and transport layers determines that the image supply device supports the predetermined communication protocol, the image supply device is decided to support the predetermined communication protocol. When both of the physical and transport layers do not determine that the image supply device supports the predetermined communication protocol, an application layer serving as an upper layer of the transport layer determines whether the image supply device supports the predetermined communication protocol.

Abstract: This invention has as its object to generate print data using minimum resources in a terminal. A browser controller acquires a predetermined Web page from an Internet print server, and inputs the URL of a Web page to be printed and a print mode on that page. Printer information is transmitted to the server together with the input information. The server reads a Web page specified by the received URL, generates print data in a format that the printer can print in accordance with the printer information and print mode, and transmits that print data to the browser controller. The browser controller transmits the print data to the printer to print it out while receiving the print data.

Abstract: When the function of a printer has been changed, the printer notifies a DSC of a change in printer function using a capabilityChanged tag. If the DSC does not return any inquiry about the capabilityChanged tag, the printer determines that the DSC has no function that supports the capabilityChanged tag. The printer executes disconnection and re-connection of USB to execute a communication procedure with the DSC from the beginning, thereby notifying the DSC of the latest capability information in the printer.

Abstract: A print command has a hierarchical structure including a vendor common code, and a vendor unique code, an index print mode or date print mode is designated using the common code, and a detailed print format of each image or the number of index images per sheet in the index print mode can be designated using the unique code.

Abstract: After applications installed in a DSC and PD printer establish a communication procedure, the DSC issues a request to the PD printer. A time required for data transfer involved in the request is predicted. An elapse time until a response is received from the PD printer in response to the request is estimated on the basis of the predicted time. If no response is returned from the PD printer within the estimated elapse time, the request is disabled.

Abstract: An image supply device, capable of transmitting image data to a recording apparatus so as to record an image, receive status information transmitted as a code from the recording apparatus, determines the degree of interpretation of plural-level information corresponding to a device level included in the received code, determines an interpretation level for the plural-level information included in the code and interprets the code. Then the device determines and notifies information to a user based on the result of interpretation.

Abstract: According to an aspect of the present invention, when a printer which is directly connected to a digital camera via a communication interface and records image data transmitted from the digital camera receives a recording request from the camera, the printer acquires an image data amount to be supplied from the digital camera, and determines whether to be able to receive the whole image data at once and process the image data. In a case where it is determined that the image data is not able to be processed, the printer requests segmented data of the image data stored in the digital camera. The printer receives the segmented data a plurality of number of times, and prints the whole image data.

Abstract: An image output system connects at least three devices as a server and client via a versatile interface, and outputs an image by transferring data among these devices. In this system, a DSC serves as a client of a storage device and printer. The DSC transmits a list request of image files stored in the storage device to the storage device, which transmits list data of the image files to the DSC together with an identification ID of the list request in response to the list request. When the DSC sends a print instruction to the printer, the printer transmits a request of image data of an image designated by the print instruction to the storage device together with the identification ID, acquires image data from the storage device as the client, and outputs an image.
