  • Patent number: 5425399
Abstract: A weft picking system for an air jet loom is provided with a microcomputer as a controller. The weft picking system comprises a weft traction device including a pair of rollers, one of which is driven by an inverter motor. A weft yarn fed from a weft measuring and storing device can be placed between the rollers to be drawn toward a weft posture regulating nozzle. The weft posture regulating nozzle is arranged to project the weft yarn into the shed of warp yarns and regulates the posture of the weft yarn under the influence of air jet ejected from the nozzle and from a plurality of sub-nozzles. The rollers always rotate during a weaving operation of the loom. A change-over device is provided to change the weft yarn from a first state of being placed between the rollers to a second state of separating from the rollers or vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4932442
Abstract: In a fluid jet loom, a weft inserting condition such as a fluid jet pressure is controlled by a feedforward control in which a change of a weft yarn condition due to interaction between the weft yarn and fluid jet is detected, and an anticipating corrective action is taken before the weft yarn is allowed to move into the shed.

  • Patent number: 4838321
Abstract: A two-phase weaving air jet loom for parallely weaving two fabrics. The loom is so constructed as to form first and second warp yarn arrays which are separate from each other to define therebetween an intermediate space. First and second weft inserting or air ejection nozzles are disposed near and outside the outside edges of the first and second warp yarn arrays, respectively. The first and second weft inserting nozzles are arranged to project first and second weft yarns into the sheds of the first and second warp yarn arrays, respectively. Additionally, a yarn end portion treating device is provided to treat the end portion (projected over the inside edge of the warp yarn array) of the weft yarn so as to form a selvage and separate the same from a woven cloth.

  • Patent number: 4766937
Abstract: An air jet loom is equipped with a weft storage device for detaining a weft yarn prior to weft picking through a weft inserting nozzle. The weft storag device includes a roller reel on which the weft yarn is wound in the shape of a coil. The roller reel consists of a plurality of rollers arranged in the shape of a reel in which the axis of each rollers is outside any of planes containing an axis of the roller reel. Some of the rollers are driven around their axis. An engaging member is movably disposed in the vicinity of the unwinding end section of the roller reel and normally engaged with the weft yarn but disengaged from the weft yarn during weft picking, thereby sharply reducing weft picking resistance applied the weft yarn to be picked into the shed of warp yarns.

  • Patent number: 4572244
Abstract: A loom having left and right warp beams and a common tension roller is provided with an electric or mechanical control system, which detects forces exerted on left and right supports of the tension roller by the warp threads of both warp beams, and produces a left control signal corresponding to a tension of the warp threads of the left warp beam and a right control signal corresponding to a tension of the warp threads of the right warp beam in accordance with the detected forces. The rotational speeds of the left and right warp beams are controlled individually in accordance with the left and right control signals, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4401139
Abstract: A weft picking device of an air jet loom, comprises a plurality of air guide members in alignment with the direction of weft picking, each air guide member being spaced predetermined distances from adjacent air guide members to define respective spaces therebetween, the air guide members being respectively formed with air guide openings to define a weft guide channel to which a weft yarn from a weft inserting nozzle is inserted, at least one auxiliary nozzle being disposed in a first section of a space between two adjacent air guide members, the space having a second section which is located opposite the first section relative to the axis of the weft guide channel, the width of the second section being less than that of the first section, thereby preventing the weft yarn from getting out of the weft guide channel to effectively accomplish weft picking.
