  • Publication number: 20100012214
Abstract: A pipe lining material comprising an inner lining material and an outer lining material is used to rehabilitate an aged existing pipe. The inner lining material and the outer lining material are made of a tubular resin-absorbent material that is impregnated with a photo-curing resin and a thermosetting resin. The resin-absorbent material of the inner lining material has a higher density than that of the outer lining material. The photo-curing resin of the inner and outer lining materials is cured by light when the pipe lining material is irradiated with light, and the heat generated when the photo-curing resin is cured cures the thermosetting resin of the inner and outer lining materials. Since the resin-absorbent material of the inner lining material has a high density, voids are less readily formed. Even if voids are generated in the resin-absorbent material of the outer lining material, the voids will be covered by the inner lining material having fewer voids.

  • Publication number: 20100008729
Abstract: To line an inner circumferential surface of side walls of a manhole, a rehabilitating sheet made of a sheet material resistant to water and corrosion is provided in the form of a bag having a shape corresponding to the inner circumferential surface to be lined. The rehabilitating sheet is inserted into the manhole to be lined. Block and plate frames are coupled inside the bag of the rehabilitating sheet to support it so as to have the shape corresponding to the inner circumferential surface to be lined. A gap between the rehabilitating sheet and the inner circumferential surface of the side walls of the manhole is filled with a filler, which is then hardened to line the side walls of the manhole. Pairs of plate frames having different diameters are coupled to each other to provide ring plates having different diameters.

  • Publication number: 20090223336
Abstract: A cutting apparatus cuts a lateral wall of a manhole to form a hole on the lateral wall of the manhole. A circular pipe is harmonized with a main pipe and fixedly disposed therein. A rotary ring configured so as to be able to rotate along the periphery of an opening in the manhole about the axial center of the main pipe is mounted on the circular pipe. A pressurized fluid material or pressurized granular material is sprayed from a nozzle held in the rotary ring. The rotary ring is rotated and the lateral wall of the manhole is cut through along the periphery of the opening in the manhole by the fluid material or granular material sprayed from the nozzle. Since the cut portion is shaped as a circle symmetrical about the axial center of the main pipe, it is possible to form a circularly shaped cut-through part centered along the periphery of the opening in the manhole without accidentally breaking or damaging the lateral wall thereof.

  • Publication number: 20090208291
Abstract: A flexible tubular lining material impregnated with a thermosetting resin is folded and bound with a tape to provide a reduced width. Two steel belts are inserted into belt loops and are removably attached so as to sandwich the lining material. Another steel belt is fixedly attached to one end of the lining material. During pipeline lining work, first, the steel-belted lining material is inserted into a lateral pipe from the main pipe. The steel belts are then removed from the lining material so that the lining material may remain inside the pipeline. After the steel belts are extracted from the pipeline, the lining material is made to expand via application of pressure from the inside. While kept in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the pipeline, the lining material is heated in order to cure the thermosetting resin therein.

  • Publication number: 20090183794
Abstract: A lateral pipe lining material having a tubular resin-absorbing material impregnated with a thermosetting resin is inserted through a main pipe into the lateral pipe. The lateral pipe lining material is provided with a pushing-up member to push up a collar formed at its end of the lateral pipe lining material. When the lateral pipe lining material is drawn into the lateral pipe to the extent that the collar reaches an opening of the lateral pipe, the pushing-up member is lifted to bring the collar into close contact with the lateral pipe opening periphery of the main pipe. The lateral pipe lining material is then expanded and a heating medium is applied thereto to cure the resin impregnated in the tubular resin-absorbing material. The lateral pipe lining material can be drawn smoothly into the lateral pipe even when it is bent, enabling the lateral pipe to be lined with a high quality.

  • Patent number: 7481246
Abstract: A lateral pipe lining material comprises a tubular resin-absorbing material impregnated with a curable resin and a brim attached at one end thereof. The lining material is positioned so that the brim faces a peripheral edge of a lateral pipe opening of the main pipe. A ring-shaped gasket composed of an elastic material is attached to an upper surface of the brim, and a bonding resin is applied thereto. The gasket seals a gap between an inner peripheral surface of the main pipe and the brim. The lateral pipe lining material is evertedly inserted into the lateral pipe in a state in which the bonding resin applied to the brim is brought into contact with the inner peripheral surface of the main pipe. In such a configuration, ground water can be prevented from seeping into the bonding resin applied to the brim even if the ground water flows into the main pipe from a break of the lateral pipe.

  • Patent number: 7451783
Abstract: A spacer is constituted by overlapping on a first wedge-shaped member, whose upper surface is inclined at a prescribed angle, a second wedge-shaped member, whose lower surface is inclined at the same angle. This spacer is inserted in the gap between a inner wall surface of an existing pipe and the outer periphery of a rehabilitating pipe. Latching teeth are formed in the inclined surfaces of the first and second wedge-shaped members so that, when pressing the second wedge-shaped member to move it toward the first wedge-shaped member in the insertion direction, it cannot move in the direction the reverse of the insertion direction. Upon moving the second wedge-shaped member to the respective latch positions, the overall height of the spacer is successively increased in steps at a fine pitch, thus enabling the adjustment of the position of the rehabilitating pipe with respect to the existing pipe to be performed simply.

  • Publication number: 20080271808
Abstract: An auxiliary tool comprises a core material covered on the surface with an elastic cloth. The auxiliary tool is inserted into a pipe having curved and bent parts and a fluid is injected into the pipe. Since the cloth covering is elastic and flexible, the auxiliary tool passes through the ridges of peaks in the pipe while maintaining a tight fit against the pipe wall. The auxiliary tool is moved through the pipe without slipping while forcing out air, and is discharged through a discharge side thereof. Air does not accumulate in the curved and bent parts of the pipe, thereby completely filling the pipe with the fluid.
