  • Patent number: 6501084
Abstract: A short-wave light transmitting diode lamp unit has a printed circuit board disposed in a housing. A plurality of short-wave light emitting diode chips is mounted on the printed circuit board so that a light emission side of the light emitting diode chip faces an opening of the housing. An outer glass as a light transmitting plate is attached to the opening of the housing. The outer glass is made of a glass material having high ultraviolet ray transmittance. The outer glass is prevented from degradation caused by the ultraviolet rays. Thus, the light output efficiency is kept in good level and long lifetime is assured. An overall structure becomes simple, thereby reducing the production costs.

  • Publication number: 20020085377
Abstract: A passenger-cabin lighting device comprises as follows. A transparent member is made of synthetic resin not containing scattering material, and has a light emitting surface and a light reflecting surface. A semitransparent member is made of semitransparent synthetic resin containing the scattering material. The semitransparent member is bonded to an inside of the transparent member to constitute a 1 ight emitting body.

  • Patent number: 6402354
Abstract: A direct lighting unit fits in opposition to an opening of a roof of a vehicle's cabin so as to illuminate a light directly the cabin. An indirect lighting unit is disposed around the outer circumference of the direct lighting unit. The indirect lighting unit contains a plurality of LEDs disposed at fixed intervals so as to emit light outward. The LEDs are controlled to indirectly illuminate the roof. When the direct lighting unit is mounted to the roof, a fixing piece supports a grooved edge portion of the indirect lighting unit so that the indirect lighting unit is immovably held between the fixing piece and the roof. Thus, the direct and indirect lighting units are simultaneously secured to the roof.

  • Patent number: 6402339
Abstract: A passenger-cabin lighting device comprises as follows. A transparent member is made of synthetic resin not containing scattering material, and has a light emitting surface and a light reflecting surface. A semitransparent member is made of semitransparent synthetic resin containing the scattering material. The semitransparent member is bonded to an inside of the transparent member to constitute a light emitting body. A plurality of light emitting diodes are diposed on one end face of the light emitting body for projecting light into the transparent member and the semitransparent member. A control circuit controls flickering of the plurality of light emitting diodes. The thus constructed passenger-cabin lighting device may be used for lighting and illuminating the passenger cabin, and for highlighting the car itself.

  • Publication number: 20020037244
Abstract: The air cleaner comprises an air cleaner body, an air passage, a fan for forming air flow flowing in the air passage and a filter to which pollutant included in the air. The air cleaner body has fitting parts. When the turned angle of the grille with the body is small, a turning arm of the grille can be inserted or detached into/from the space between the fitting parts when the turned angle of the grille with the body is large, the grille is temporarily held in the air cleaner body by fitting the turning arm to the fitting parts. Further a photocatalytic holder containing a photocatalytic substance is provided in the air cleaner. A light emitting diode (LED) is provided for radiating light on the photocatalytic substance. Illumination of the LED is controlled in accordance with an actual voltage and the rated voltage of a power source.
