  • Patent number: 6213373
Abstract: A plate-shaped fastener is driven obliquely into a wall member. When driving is complete, a member is superposed on the wall member, and a screw inserted through the member is threaded into the wall member. When the screw penetrates through the wall, it is threaded into the plate-shaped fastener. When the screw is tightened, the portion of the plate-shaped fastener protruding to the back of the wall is pulled against the back of the wall member, so that this portion of the plate-shaped fastener is bent and superposed on the back of the wall member. Thus, the member is securely fastened to the wall member with the wall member sandwiched between the member and the plate-shaped fastener. Also, a jig for driving the plate-shaped fastener is proposed which comprises a plate holder portion and a positioning plate portion.

  • Patent number: 6196780
Abstract: An anchor has a hollow shank having a head at one end and an integral blade portion at the other end and formed with male threads on the outer periphery. Cuts are formed in a peripheral wall of the hollow shank to define therebetween a bendable portion adapted to bend when pushed out by a mounting screw driven into the hollow shank. The blade portion is substantially semicylindrical with side edges defining cutting edges. Ribs for inclining the mounting screw are formed on the inner surfaces of the blade portion and the hollow shaft, respectively. When a mounting screw is driven through the article into the anchor to fix an article to the board, the mounting screw is inclined relative to the anchor, so that the bendable portion is pushed out, thus preventing the anchor from rotating together with the screw.

  • Patent number: 5749688
Abstract: A screw fixing plug which makes it possible for a screw to be fastened in position with its threads biting into the trunk of the plug over the entire length thereof, irrespective of the material of the member to which a screw is fastened is made. The plug has a trunk formed with a screw inserting bore and a composite hole comprising a sector portion and a groove-shaped portion. The trunk has two rib portions defined on both sides of the groove-shaped portion. When a screw is driven into the plug with the plug inserted in a starting hole formed through an article to be fastened and a building material, the portion of the trunk where the composite hole is formed is expanded uniformly. Thus, the threads on the screw will bite the trunk over the entire length thereof irrespective of the kind of building material, so that the screw can be fastened securely.

  • Patent number: 5700119
Abstract: A nail with spreadable legs has legs that can be spread apart by a constant angle irrespective of the hardness of the ALC material into which the nail is driven. The nail has two leg members bound together by a washer with their flat sides abutting each other. One of the leg members has a protrusion on its respective flat surface near its tip. A projection and a recess are formed on the flat surfaces of the respective leg members. With the leg members bound by the washer, the projection engages in the recess near the washer. When the nail is driven in to a predetermined depth, the projection disengages from the recess, so that the legs begin to spread apart. It is thus possible to control the spread angle of the leg members.

  • Patent number: 5468107
Abstract: Long and short legs have heads and pointed tips, respectively. They are joined together near their tips by welding. An upper portion above the welded portion of the long leg is formed with a cut extending obliquely upwards toward the short leg so that a thin breakable portion is formed in the long leg between the end of the cut and the contact surface with the short leg. A washer for clamping the legs above the cut is provided. When the nail is driven, the legs will not spread until the head of the short leg abuts the washer. When the head abuts the washer, the long leg slides outwards and spreads apart from the short leg near the cut. The breakable portion will thus get broken and the nail will spread.
