  • Patent number: 4142786
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device for a camera, so designed to be illuminated by means of the artificial light so that the display value can clearly be observed, even when the photographic atmosphere is dark.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 9, 1977
Date of Patent: March 6, 1979
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha

  • Patent number: 4140378
Abstract: A liquid crystal cell is provided within a camera viewfinder. In the cell, a liquid crystal is sandwiched between a resistance layer mounted on a substrate and another substrate-mounted layer which may be either resistive or conductive. Suitable means mask at least the end portions of the display of the liquid crystal cell. In operation, voltages corresponding to photographic conditions are applied to the layers to produce analog data indicative of photographic conditions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 6, 1976
Date of Patent: February 20, 1979
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Ryoichi Suzuki, Seiichi Matsumoto, Takashi Amikura, Tokuichi Tsunekawa, Takashi Uchiyama
