  • Patent number: 8690987
Abstract: Carbon iron composite is produced by feeding a formed product of a carbon-containing substance and an iron-containing substance into a carbonization furnace, carbonizing the formed product in a carbonization zone, blowing a coolant gas into the furnace through a coolant-gas-blowing tuyere disposed in a cooling zone to cool carbon iron composite, exhausting a furnace gas through an outlet in a top portion, and discharging the carbon iron composite through a lower portion of the cooling zone.

  • Publication number: 20120205839
Abstract: A coke layer and an ore layer are formed in a blast furnace. The coke layer is formed of conventional coke and the ore layer is formed of carbon iron composite, conventional coke, and ore. The mixing percentage of the conventional coke in the ore layer with respect to the ore is 0.5 mass % or more. Slowing of the gasification reaction of carbon iron composite in the cohesive zone can be suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20120144734
Abstract: A method for manufacturing metallurgical formed carbon iron composite, in which the particle size of a raw material iron ore is optimized in the manufacture of carbon iron composite having a relatively small particle size so as to manufacture high-strength carbon iron composite while maintaining a target reduction ratio. The method for manufacturing carbon iron composite includes mixing coal and iron ore having a maximum particle size of 1 to 2 mm to produce a briquetted material, and carbonizing the briquetted material. Preferably, the iron content of the iron ore is 63% by mass or less, the blending ratio of the iron ore is 40% by mass or less relative to the total amount of coal and iron ore, and the iron ore is undersize of a 1- to 2-mm mesh screen.

  • Publication number: 20030027088
Abstract: A method for treating combustible wastes comprises the steps of: carbonizing combustible wastes to produce carbonized products and a combustible gas; contacting an exhaust gas from a process with said carbonized products to purify the exhaust gas; and recovering the carbonized products in the exhaust gas. The carbonizing is carried out at a temperature of 400° C. or higher.
