  • Patent number: 9148560
Abstract: According to the present invention, the first and second phase difference pixels are arranged on the pixel lines in the first direction in the color image that is thinned during imaging of a moving image including that for live view display. Therefore, even during moving image taking, phase difference AF can be accurately performed. Furthermore, the pixel values at the pixel positions of the first and second phase difference pixels in the thinned color image can be accurately acquired on the basis of the pixel values of the surrounding pixels. Accordingly, reduction in the image quality of the taken image (still image or moving image) due to the phase difference pixels can be prevented or alleviated. Furthermore, the pixel values can be accurately acquired on the basis of the pixel values of the surrounding pixels during simultaneous processing.

  • Publication number: 20150256792
Abstract: It is intended to provide an imaging apparatus and a focus control method that can prevent AF speed reduction even at the occurrence of a flicker. A system control unit 11 of a digital camera having a solid-state imaging device 5 that shoots a subject via an imaging lens 1 including a focus lens selectively performs one of a first focus control for controlling the focus lens so as to move it to a focus position by a phase difference AF method and a second focus control for controlling the focus lens so as to move it to a focus position by a contrast AF method. The system control unit 11 selects and performs the first focus control in a state that a flicker detection unit 12 has detected a flicker.

  • Publication number: 20150244925
Abstract: The image acquisition section acquires a first image and a second image output from an image pick-up device. A parallax computation section computes parallax indicating the amount of displacement between each of the pixels in the first image and corresponding pixels in the second image acquired by the image acquisition section. The generation section generates a first display image based on a third image output from the image pick-up device, and generates a second display image for use in focus verification based on the first and second images acquired by the image acquisition section. The change section changes the resolution of at least the second display image from out of the first display image and the second display image generated by the generation section according to the parallax computed by the parallax computation section.

  • Publication number: 20150117832
Abstract: One aspect of the present invention thinning-reads pixel signals from the multiple pixels according to a thinning pattern from an image pickup element, or extracts pixel signals from the multiple pixels according to the thinning pattern from a color image that is read from the image pickup element and corresponds to the color filter array, and acquires a thinned color image. Then, moving image data is generated on the basis of the thinned color image. Adoption of the thinned color image as a target image to be subjected to moving image processing can facilitate reduction in processing time per frame, and prevent the frame rate from decreasing. Furthermore, thinning-reading pixels from the image pickup element can facilitate reduction in time of reading an image from the image pickup element.
