  • Patent number: 9955075
Abstract: [Problems to be solved] To provide an information terminal, a power saving method in the information terminal and a recording medium which records a program which are capable of efficiently suppressing power consumption related to human detection. [Solution] A human detector performs human detection processing using a captured image by a camera and notifies a control unit of the detection result. Various sensors, an RF unit and a position information detector acquire information related to a change in a position of the information terminal and notify the control unit. The control unit performs power control for the camera on the basis of at least one of the human detection processing result and the information related to the change in the position of the information terminal.

  • Patent number: 6462645
Abstract: A radio selective call receiver and a method of transferring reception areas only when the received frequency/area information of the transfer destination is correct and to conserve battery power. Transfer destination service area information is extracted from a radio signal of a first frequency that is being received, a second frequency corresponding to the area information is determined and the area information and the second frequency are added to an information listing means. If the radio signal including a synchronizing signal and the area information is detected at the second frequency within a time limit, the second frequency is set as the first frequency, and if the radio signal cannot be detected at the second frequency within the time limit, the second frequency and the transfer destination service area information corresponding to this second frequency that were added to the information listing means are deleted.

  • Patent number: 6308087
Abstract: Disclosed is a message receiving method executed on a radio selective calling receiver, which comprises: a first step of judging whether a received message is originated from a local transmission station or a non-local transmission station; a second step of judging whether the received message is an information message or a personal message when the received message is judged to be originated from the non-local transmission station; a third step of judging whether or not a native language is used in the received message when the received message is judged to be the information message; a fourth step of translating the received message into a native language when it is judged that the native language is not used in the received message.

  • Patent number: 6192007
Abstract: A pager which can display base time in the base area of the pager along with displaying corrected local time in an area in which the pager is located is presented. The pager receives a country code and an area code transmitted by a paging system. A system information detection section judges whether or not the received country code and area code are the same as a country code and an area code corresponding to the base area of the pager. If the received country code and area code did not match, the CPU of the pager searches a time difference table for a piece of time difference information, based on the received country code and area code. The CPU judges whether or not the time difference information acquired by the search is the same as time difference information which has been stored in a time difference information memory section.

  • Patent number: 6070087
Abstract: In a selective call receiver which is usable in a plurality of networks, a setting data memory previously stores network identifiers for identifying the networks and network priorities which are assigned to the networks, respectively. After identifying a transmitting network from which the calling signal is received by searching the network identifiers for a received network identifier included in the calling signal, a single network is selected from one or more identified transmitting networks based on the network priorities. The receiver is set to a receiving state of the single network.

  • Patent number: 5978686
Abstract: A selective call receiver usable in service areas involving a plurality of networks. The selective call receiver is able to select the appropriate network by counting a frequency of reception of a calling signal from each transmitting network and basing the decision for selection of a network on previously specified priority information.

  • Patent number: 5740517
Abstract: In a selective calling radio pager for receiving a paging signal of a superframe structure comprising a recurrent series of frames, each containing a series of burst signals containing a synchronization field, a short warm-up period and a short time-out period are established before each burst signal of an assigned frame of a first superframe is received. A long warm-up period and a long time-out period are established before the burst signals of the assigned frame of a second superframe as received. The receiver is activated at the start of the short warm-up period advanced from the start of each burst signal and a determination is made whether synchronization is established within the subsequent short time-out period. A long warm-up period and a long time-out period are then established and the receiver is deactivated.
