    Abstract: An image processing apparatus connects to a memory card with a communication function which includes a storage unit and a transmission unit configured to transmit data stored in the storage unit to an external apparatus, receives a transmission state of data stored in the memory card with the communication function from the memory card with the communication function, and discriminates a data type that the transmission unit can transmit. If the data type for determining the transmission state is a data type that the transmission unit can transmit, the image processing apparatus receives the transmission state from the memory card with the communication function and if the data type for determining the transmission state is not a data type that the transmission unit can transmit, the image processing apparatus does not receive the transmission state from the memory card with the communication function.
