  • Patent number: 5755133
Abstract: An improved screw washer, and an improved mold for fabricating the improved screw washer. Using a selected metal plate having a thickness thinner than a nominal height demanded for a nut, the invention primarily aims to form an improved screw washer incorporating a nut satisfying the demanded height. The invention is to provide an improved screw washer, and an improved mold for fabricating the screw washer. Particularly, using this improved mold, the improved screw washer can easily be manufactured, where the above-identified nut is solidly bonded with the metal plate without being disengageable therefrom, and yet, a sufficiently lengthy tapped hole is formed. Structurally, a nut is formed in the state of being continuous to a metal plate after punching out part of the metal plate.

  • Patent number: 5531049
Abstract: A roof mounted light transmitting frame has a pair of longitudinal sash members. A light-transmitting sheet support sash member is mounted obliquely along the inner surface of each longitudinal sash member such that the distance between its front end and the lower edge of the longitudinal sash member is larger than the distance between its rear end and the lower edge of the longitudinal sash member. A lower horizontal sash member with a vertical support member is mounted between front ends of the light-transmitting sheet support sash members. An upper horizontal sash member is mounted between rear ends of the light-transmitting sheet support sash members. A light-transmitting sheet is mounted between the light-transmitting sheet support sash members, and the upper and lower horizontal sash members. A recess is longitudinally formed on the lower horizontal sash member to receive an upper horizontal sash member of the next frame.

  • Patent number: 5432888
Abstract: The definition of membership functions which define a fuzzy set is easily and visually performed by using a pointing device. When a membership function shape model on a function graph display device is pointed to by the pointing device, a parameter value is computed from the pointed-to position, and this value is set in a parameter value memory area in a membership function memory area. The membership functions are defined by performing this operation repeatedly.

  • Patent number: 5406936
Abstract: A roof mounted solar collector structure has cross-pieces arranged at regular intervals parallel to the eaves line on overlying roof members which enclose a part of the roof structure. Connecting members are mounted orthogonally on the cross-pieces at regular intervals. Solar energy collection members are laid between the connecting members. Support members are mounted at peripheral edges of an enclosed part of the roof to cover upper side and outside surfaces of the crosspieces. A lower end of each support member contacts an upper side of the overlying roof members. Receiving portions formed at outside lower ends of the connecting members are in close proximity to side edges of the enclosed part of the roof and receive one of the support members.

  • Patent number: 5367843
Abstract: A roof apparatus includes a plurality of light collecting members, each having a pair of left and right vertical members, an upper horizontal member, a lower horizontal member, and a transparent plate. The upper horizontal members are disposed at a ridge side end of the vertical members, the lower horizontal members are disposed at an eaves side end of the vertical members, and the transparent plate is disposed on the inner periphery of the vertical members, the upper horizontal member, and the lower horizontal member. The light collecting members are connected in a slope direction of the roof, and the lower horizontal member has a transparent plate holding piece, a transparent plate contact wall, and a cover piece. The transparent plate holding piece is adapted to hold an eaves side end of the transparent plate. The transparent plate contact wall has a thickness which is smaller than the thickness of the transparent plate.

  • Patent number: 5121583
Abstract: A roof structure suitable for use with solar energy collection elements has a wide lower width-adjusting section defined at a lateral lower portion of each of a number of connecting members disposed at predetermined intervals, while a wide intermediate width-adjusting section is defined at an intermediate portion of the side of the connecting member. The lower portion of the side edge of a lighting frame serving as a roofing member is inserted into the intermediate width-adjusting section, and the side edge of a water proof sheet is laid below the lighting frame to be received inside the lower width-adjusting section. When the total width of the roofing member is greater than the backing width of the roof, the side edge of the lighting frame and that of the waterproof sheet are located in positions close to the center of the connecting member.

  • Patent number: 3969850
Abstract: A metal roof unit including a backing, a heat insulating material, and a surface metal plate, which can be produced by roll forming, press forming or extrusion forming on a mass-production basis in factories and can be used for roofing without special skill by expert roofers. In order to unite the metal roof units there are provided joint members which can be produced of light metal such as aluminum by roll forming, press forming or extrusion forming. The joint members are provided with a series of slits from which nails are driven through notches provided at each ends of said metal roof units into a rafter which is provided under said metal roof units, and said slits and notches have sufficient allowance in order to make the joint members and metal roof units movable by heat expansion due to sun heat.
