  • Publication number: 20230005503
Abstract: Various apparatuses, systems, methods, and media are disclosed to provide a heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) medium that has a magnesium (Mg) trapping layer that is configured to mitigate Mg migration in the HAMR medium so as to prevent near field transducer (NFT) damage caused by dissociated Mg reacting with a compound used in the NFT. In one example, the HAMR medium can include a substrate, a seed layer on the substrate and including MgO, a magnetic recording layer on the seed layer, and a Mg trapping layer on the substrate and configured to mitigate Mg migration from the seed layer to a surface of the HAMR medium above the magnetic recording layer.

  • Patent number: 10057474
Abstract: A coil unit may include coils and a coil holding member. An outer peripheral face of the coil holding member includes two side-face pairs, each of which includes a pair of parallel side faces. Each side face includes a protruded part around which the coil is wound and an abutting face with which one end face of the coil is abutted. Two pieces of the coil wound around protruded parts of two paired side faces is formed of one conducting wire. One side faces includes a coil guide part for wiring a crossover wire which connects the coil wound around the protruded part of one side face with the coil wound around the protruded part of the paired side-face pair, the coil guide part being recessed from the abutting face, and a recessed amount of the coil guide part is not less than an outer diameter of the conducting wire.

  • Publication number: 20110180707
Abstract: A microsampling apparatus having a mechanism for enabling observation of a specimen and for contacting a potential-controllable conductive terminal with a sampling area and a sampling method thereof are provided. The mechanism includes an operation mechanism for precisely controlling, during the observation, a conductive terminal for contact with a periphery of the sampling area and movement of the terminal, a potential control mechanism for applying a voltage to the terminal, and a mechanism for coupling the terminal to ground and to the potential control mechanism. Contacting the terminal with a vicinity of the specimen allows charged particles that are created during the observation and sampling to escape via an earth lead. This makes it possible, in analysis preprocessing of a small insulator specimen of about 1 ?m which causes device defects, to lessen electrification risks, thereby enabling sampling of only the target object without mixture of a surrounding base material.

  • Publication number: 20040136008
Abstract: An optical characteristic measurement device includes an optical path separation element to which a parallel laser beam is made incident through an aperture, a first face-type photo-detector that receives the laser beam transmitted through the optical path separation element and a second face-type photo-detector that receives the laser beam reflected by the optical path separation element. A length of an optical path from the aperture to the first face-type photo-detector is set to be different from a length of an optical path from the aperture to the second face-type photo-detector.

  • Patent number: 5786648
Abstract: A motor comprises a rotary shaft, an oil impregnated sintered bearing rotatably supporting the rotary shaft, a bearing holder supporting the oil impregnated sintered bearing and a motor case. A lateral pressure device is provided to the rotary shaft which abrasively contacts the rotary shaft from a radial direction and provides a lateral pressure so that the rotary shaft is displaced in the radial direction. The lateral pressure device further comprises an inner ring made of an oil impregnated sintered member in which a through-hole abrasively contacts the rotary shaft from the radial direction is formed, an elastic member which provides a lateral pressure so that the rotary shaft is displaced in the radial direction and an outer ring which holds the elastic member and is fixed to the motor case.
