  • Patent number: 6047134
Abstract: An image shake detecting device for detecting a shake of an image on an image sensing plane on the basis of a video signal output from an image sensor includes detection circuits arranged to detect image displacement in a plurality of areas set on the image sensing plane, and a control microcomputer which makes a discrimination, on the basis of information output from these detection circuits, between a movement of a camera and a solo movement of a photographed object. The device thus accurately makes compensation for an image shake by judging the state of the image on the basis of information output from these detection circuits. The image shake detecting device further includes a computing circuit arranged to compute a quantity of an image shake on the basis of a difference in detecting timing of a feature point of the image and a sensitivity control circuit arranged to change the detection sensitivity of the shake detection circuits.

  • Patent number: 5144464
Abstract: A polymer liquid crystal device is formed by a color polymer liquid crystal layer, generally disposed on a substrate. The color polymer liquid crystal layer includes a plurality of minute polymer liquid crystal elements, which in turn comprise plural species of color polymer liquid crystals colored in at least two colors and disposed regularly or irregularly in the layer so that the polymer liquid crystal elements emit scattered light in intensities which are selectively controlled thermally to effect a display with scattered light. In the color polymer liquid crystal layer, a color of the polymer liquid crystal elements emitting the longest wavelength scattered light are disposed in a larger areal proportion than the other color of the polymer liquid crystal elements so as to correct color balance in compensation for a difference in spectral luminous efficiency or differences in scattering intensity and scattering angle depending on colors during a display using scattered light.

  • Patent number: 5132706
Abstract: There is provided a method and apparatus for forming an image which includes providing a recording composition capable of changing its adhesivity corresponding to the polarity of a voltage applied thereto between a pair of electrodes. The recording composition has a transfer characteristic having a tendency to change by loss of at least one component of the recording composition. A voltage is applied between the pair of electrodes to attach the recording composition to one of the pair of electrodes to attach the recording composition to one of the pair of electrodes. Any such change in the transfer characteristic of the recording composition is detected during the process. In response to any change in the transfer characteristic additional component is added to the recording composition to compensate for that change.

  • Patent number: 5103332
Abstract: A color image forming method provides clear color images with good color balance by thermally controlling a thermosensitive medium, such as polymer liquid crystal. The medium is capable of reversibly assuming optical states of being transparent and of scattering light, and allows picture-element display areas in at least two colors to be composed on a surface thereof. Picture elements within color areas are selected if they correspond to the color whose spectral transmission center is, among those of the colors to be displayed, closest to the longest wavelength involved. Heat is applied such that the maximum haze degree of the selected picture elements is greater than that of picture elements corresponding to any of the other colors.

  • Patent number: 5066107
Abstract: A display medium having a display face is composed of a plurality of display layers laminated parallel to the display face. Each display layer comprises a polymer liquid crystal having a mesomorphic temperature range between its glass transition temperature and the upper limit temperature of a liquid crystal phase used for display. The mesomorphic temperature ranges of the plurality of display layers do not overlap each other. The optical densities of the display layers are controlled independently from the other by controlling the heating temperatures and cooling rates of the display layers, and the gradation of each color can be also controlled, so that a full-color display can be realized.
