    Abstract: In a seatbelt retractor attachment structure, a seatbelt retractor is fixed to a vehicle body via a retractor bracket. The retractor bracket includes a fixing portion, fastening portion, and a curved portion. The fixing portion is fixed to a retractor frame of the seatbelt retractor. The fastening portion is fastened and fixed to the vehicle body. The curved portion connects the fixing portion and the fastening portion. The curved portion includes a part bent from the fixing portion in a direction surrounding the seatbelt retractor and a part folded back toward the fastening portion. The curved portion has a substantially U shape. The fastening portion includes at least one of a pair of bent flange portions on both sides in a width direction of the fastening portion and a bead portion protruding along a longitudinal direction of the fastening portion.

    Abstract: A vehicle airbag apparatus includes a curtain airbag, a collision direction detector, a deployment inhibitor, and an airbag controller. The curtain airbag is deployable in an interior of a vehicle from an upper portion on a side of the vehicle so as to cover a side window of the vehicle. The collision direction detector detects a collision direction of a collision object and the vehicle. The deployment inhibitor partially suppresses deployment of the curtain airbag. In response to the collision direction detector detecting a substantially forward collision of the vehicle, the airbag controller deploys the curtain airbag in such a manner as to activate the deployment inhibitor to suppress deployment of the curtain airbag over an area interfering with an extending portion of a seat belt being worn by an occupant.

    Abstract: An airbag device is disposed beneath the lateral surface of a driver's seat backrest facing a front passenger seat, and beneath the lateral surface of a front passenger seat backrest facing a driver's seat. The air bag device has first and second airbags that are inflatable and deployable upon a collision of a vehicle equipped with airbag device. The inflated and deployed first airbag has a depressed portion on its outer side in a vehicle width direction near the shoulder of an occupant, and the second airbag inflates and deploys so as to fill the depressed portion. Upon the collision of the vehicle, when the body size of the occupant is greater than or equal to a predetermined size, only the first airbag inflates and deploys, whereas when the body size is smaller than the predetermined size, the first and second airbags inflate and deploy.
