Abstract: An image processing apparatus in which a density pattern is generated which corresponds to input image data. Growth direction of the density pattern is controlled by generating a density pattern in a prescribed direction, and generating a density pattern in a direction based on a random signal. As a result, when printing the image data based on the generated density patterns, there is no joining between adjacent pixels and a high-quality image is produced.

Abstract: This image processing apparatus inputs multi-valued image data, generates first recording data based on the input data, adds together several of the multi-valued image data, generates second recording data based on the added data and selects either the first or the second recording data. The image processing apparatus selects the first recording data in areas corresponding to the several multi-valued image data when preset data are included in those multi-valued image data, and selects the second recording data in areas corresponding to the several multi-valued image data when preset data are not included in those multi-valued image data.

Abstract: This invention relates to 3-substitutedbenzoyl-bicyclo[4,4,0]heptane-2,4-dione with high herbicidal activity represented by formula I ##STR1## wherein one of R.sub.1 or R.sub.2 represents methyl and the other represents hydrogen or lower alkyl or alkoxycarbonyl or its salt.

Abstract: A recording apparatus includes an input circuit for inputting recording data, a process circuit for performing a recording operation on a photosensitive body on the basis of the recording data input from the input circuit, a designating circuit for designating a recording density, and a control circuit for controlling an operating condition of at least a high-voltage circuit on the basis of designation by the designating circuit. The process circuit includes the high-voltage circuit used for the recording operation.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an area modulation means for forming a halftone image signal by area modulation according to input image data, and a recording unit for performing recording using a particle-type recording material according to the halftone image signal, wherein the length of a short side of a minimum modulation area of the area modulation means formed by the recording unit is set to 0.7-4 times an average particle size of the particle-type recording material.

Abstract: Compounds of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is lower alkyl, phenyl, substituted phenyl or benzyl,R.sub.2 is lower alkyl,R.sub.3 is lower alkyl or lower alkenyl,R.sub.4 is hydrogen or lower alkoxycarbonyl,X is straight or branched chain lower alkylene, andn is 0, 1 0r 2;and metal salts and ammonium salts of the compounds defined hereinabove.The compounds are useful as herbicides.
