  • Publication number: 20130335228
Abstract: A verification value is calculated for an estimation result. The estimation result is corrected on the basis of the calculated verification value. This allows for output of a highly reliable estimation result. If it is determined that the class to which the state of a driver belongs has transitioned continuously, the estimation result is outputted. If it cannot be determined that the class to which the state of the driver belongs has transitioned continuously, a previous estimation result is outputted instead of the latest estimation result. This allows for output of a highly reliable estimation result.

  • Publication number: 20130021462
Abstract: A reference value for detecting the initial state before a predetermined time elapses is set immediately after the vehicle begins to operate. The reference value functions as a relatively accurate indicator for indicating that the driver is highly alert. Thus, it is possible to accurately determine whether or not a driver is highly alert by comparing the aforementioned reference value with the blink frequency, which functions as an indicator for reflecting the current state of the driver.
