  • Publication number: 20050225029
Abstract: In the device for feeding the recording medium by rotating the roll body by using one feed roller, an angle is formed between the direction of the line segment connecting the centers of rotation of the roll body and the feed roller and the movement direction in which the roll body or the feed roller moves as the diameter of the roll body decreases. For example, in the case where the roll body is moved, the contact point between the roll body and the feed roller shifts to the downstream side of the roll body from the line segment connecting the centers of rotation of the roll body and the feed roller. Therefore, when the roll body is rewound by the feed roller, the contact pressure between the roll body and the feed roller can be increased, and thereby the winding slack of the roll body can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20050217356
Abstract: A misfire detector detects a misfire in a cylinder based on a maximum value and the minimum value of the angular speed. A first crank angle range is defined in such a manner as to include a crank angle in which the angular speed is maximum during a power stroke. A second crank angle range is defined in such a manner as to include a crank angle in which the angular speed is minimum during the power stroke. The maximum value of the angular speed is calculated within the first crank angle range, and the minimum value of the angular speed is calculated within the second crank angle range. The calculated maximum and minimum values are brought close to actual values to enhance a reliability of the misfire detector.

  • Publication number: 20050174112
Abstract: Two Hall element forming arrangements are formed on a semiconductor substrate. Each Hall element forming arrangement includes a Hall element that is formed in a principal surface of the semiconductor substrate. A base is formed separately from the semiconductor substrate. Then, the base is disposed at a rear surface of the semiconductor substrate and holds the semiconductor substrate and the Hall element forming arrangements. The base includes a holding surface, which holds the semiconductor substrate, and two slant surfaces, each of which is slanted relative to the holding surface. Each Hall element forming arrangement is held on a corresponding one of the at least one slant surface of the base.

  • Publication number: 20040227506
Abstract: External magnetic members are provided outside the outer periphery of a rotor. When the rotor is positioned around its turning angle of 70 degrees, part of the magnetic fluxes generated by magnets pass through the external magnetic members. This makes it possible to reduce the magnetic fluxes passing through Hall ICs around the turning angle of 70 degrees, thereby linearizing the change characteristic of the magnetic flux density. Thus, it is possible to generally linearize the change characteristic of the density of the magnetic fluxes through the Hall ICs 7, with the detectable angle range kept wide.

  • Publication number: 20040139404
Abstract: A text editing assistor comprises a table storing section storing a candidate table, a candidate displaying section, a character sequence finalization section, an environment information acquisition section, a determination section, and a first updating section. The candidate displaying section displays at least one prospective character sequence in response to a character sequence which is input by the user. The character sequence finalization section allows the user to select one of the at least one prospective character sequence displayed by the candidate displaying section as a final character sequence. The environment information acquisition section acquires environment information. When a final character sequence is selected by means of the character sequence finalization section, the determination section determines whether or not to update the candidate table based on the environment information.

  • Publication number: 20040061495
Abstract: A rotation angle sensing device for detecting a relative rotation angle between a rotor and a stator includes main magnets, fixed in the rotor, and hole ICs, fixed in the stator. The hole ICs detect magnetic flux of the main magnets , and the relative rotation angle therebetween is detected. A supportive magnet is disposed between the hole ICs so as to offset the magnetic flux of the main magnets. Accordingly, a rotation angle in which the magnetic flux density detected in the hole ICs becomes 0[mT] can be changed by the supportive magnet. Therefore, a 0° position of the rotation angle can be set to the rotation angle in which the magnetic flux density is detected as 0[mT], and moreover the detectable range of the rotation angle can be enlarged to be more than 90°.

Abstract: A duct is installed in an apparatus housing. The duct has an outside inlet, a first discharge opening, a second discharge opening, and an air filter. Outside air is taken into the duct from the outside inlet through the air filter. The air filter filters the outside air to prevent dust from getting into the duct. A cooling axial flow fan disposed in the vicinity of each of the first and second discharge openings. The cooling axial flow fans blow the filtered outside air into fixing devices to be cooled. Gaps are formed between the cooling axial flow fan and the first discharge opening, and between the other cooling axial flow fan and the second discharge opening, as inside inlets. When the air filter clogs, air in the housing is supplied to the cooling axial flow fans through the gaps, to circulate the air inside the housing.

  • Publication number: 20040057147
Abstract: A recording apparatus of a tape-shaped magnetic recording medium includes a transfer unit, a recording head, a signal-processing unit and a control unit. The transfer unit transfers a tape-shaped magnetic recording medium having an anisotropic property oblique with respect to the thickness direction in a forward or reversed direction. The recording head is positioned in such a way that a recording track is formed on the traveling tape-shaped magnetic recording medium, which is transferred by the transfer unit, in a direction parallel to the transfer direction of the tape-shaped magnetic recording medium. Connected to the recording head, the signal-processing unit receives a signal to be recorded onto the tape-shaped magnetic recording medium. The signal-processing unit then carries out signal processing required for an operation to write the signal to be recorded onto the tape-shaped magnetic recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20040006536
Abstract: An electronic money system related to network type and IC card type electronic money for preventing an affiliated store from failure to collect purchase amount and for permitting shopping to be securely accomplished through the intermediary of a network. A user terminal (2-1) accesses an affiliated store terminal (4-1) through the intermediary of the Internet (1) to purchase a commodity. The affiliated store terminal (4-1) refers to a settlement apparatus (7) through the intermediary of the Internet (1) for the balance of electronic money stored in a database (25) of an e-Wallet (24) of the user of the user terminal (2-1). If the balance is larger than a purchase amount, then the settlement apparatus (7) subtracts the purchase amount from the balance to update the balance. If the balance is smaller than the purchase amount, then an overdraft amount based on a credit level of the user is added to the balance, and if the resulting total amount is larger than the purchase, the settlement is carried out.
