  • Publication number: 20040235535
Abstract: In a communication system arranged by a cordless handset, a base unit, and a charging base, the charging base is constructed by employing a cordless handset power supply unit for charging a secondary battery of the cordless handset; a portable terminal appliance power supply unit for charging the portable terminal appliance; and further, a data transmitting and receiving unit capable of transmitting and receiving data between the portable terminal appliance and the cordless handset data storage unit. With employment of this arrangement, the data transmitting and receiving unit of the charging base transmits and receives data between the portable terminal appliance and the cordless handset, and transfers a telephone number from the cordless handset to the portable terminal appliance, or from the portable terminal appliance to the cordless handset. This transferred telephone number can be utilized so as to make a telephone call.

  • Patent number: 6798403
Abstract: A system for detecting a position of a stylus movable on an interactive board includes a position information transmitter and information detection sections. The stylus has the transmitter for transmitting to the detection sections electromagnetic wave signals or light signals, and ultrasonic wave signals. The position is detected based on measurement of direct distances for signal transmission between the stylus and the detection sections. The detected position information is output to a personal computer, image projector, printer, etc. Each detection section has an opening sized so that the ultrasonic waves are advantageously transmitted through the opening and substantially radially from its center to its piezoelectric element.

  • Patent number: 6075928
Abstract: A multi-function image processing system smooth in operation and high in reliability having the functions of a fax and a printer is disclosed. An image is printed by a print engine, data are transmitted and received by a host interface and processed by a print data processing section which produces print data. The print data are transmitted to the print engine through a printer engine interface. The connection with the public line is controlled by a channel controller. On the other hand, an original is converted into image data by a reader, which image data are processed and print data produced by a fax controller. The print data are transmitted to the print engine by a fax engine interface. The transmission and receiving of the print data and the control data are arbitrated by an engine interface arbiter between the print engine interface and the fax engine interface on one hand and the print engine on the other hand.

  • Patent number: 5995070
Abstract: Image display apparatus and method with an LED matrix device. Each dot of the device is composed of one red LED, one blue LED and two green LEDs. When data displayed in a 16.times.16 dot matrix is displayed by reducing the data to a 8.times.8 dot matrix, 2.times.2 dots of the 16.times.16 matrix are grouped into one unit composed of 2.times.2 dots arrayed in a matrix. Four data, i.e., data obtained by extracting upper-left data from all the units, data obtained by extracting upper-right data, data obtained by extracting lower-left data, data obtained by extracting lower-right data, respectively, from all the dot units, are successively displayed on a time division basis with deviation corresponding to a half dot relative to one another. Image of smooth contour can be generated even with a small-scale LED display apparatus having a small number of dots and low resolution.

  • Patent number: 5835233
Abstract: A picture forming apparatus comprises a memory means for storing an inputted picture data, a picture data changing means for changing a stored data into a new picture data in order to save a recording material, and a picture printing means. The picture data changing means changes the stored picture data into a new picture data in order to save a recording material only when a saving command of a recording material is given. The new picture data includes smaller dots than the stored picture data and/or has a fewer picture dots than the stored picture dots. As a result, the new picture data enables the picture printing means to save a recording material.

  • Patent number: 5301271
Abstract: An image processing system provided with a reception device for receiving image information and an output device for outputting image information at high resolution in case where the received image information is binary image information, and for outputting image information at resolution lower than resolution of the received image data in case where the received image information is other than binary image data. Thereby, a quantity of image information can be reduced without degradation of picture quality. Thus an image can be transmitted and stored.
