  • Patent number: 8247111
Abstract: An opening part of a battery casing is sealed by a sealing unit into which a negative electrode terminal plate, a negative electrode current collector joined to the negative electrode terminal plate, and a gasket are integrated. The gasket includes a boss part through which the negative electrode current collector passes, an outer peripheral part in contact with the opening part of the battery casing, and an annular part arranged between the boss part and the outer peripheral part, and a part of the annular part is formed into a thin part serving as a safety valve. The negative electrode current collector has a body diameter of 1.8 mm or smaller and includes at the end part thereof a collar part. The ratio of the outer diameter of the boss part to the outer diameter of the collar part is 4.0 or smaller.

  • Publication number: 20050042510
Abstract: An alkaline dry battery of the present invention includes a battery case, a sealing plate for sealing an opening of the battery case and a gasket arranged between the battery case and the sealing plate, and further includes, between the gasket and the battery case, a sealant layer comprising 10 to 60 wt % of higher saturated fatty acid having a carbon number of 12 to 22 and 90 to 40 wt % of univalent unsaturated fatty acid. The sealant layer is obtained by using a sealant capable of being applied without the help of an organic solvent, and therefore does not cause harmful effect to the environment and has excellent sealing property.

  • Publication number: 20050031951
Abstract: In an alkaline dry battery according to the present invention, a film comprising epoxy adduct polyamide amine having an amine value in the range of 150 to 500 is arranged between a negative electrode current collector and a gasket. Since the epoxy adduct polyamide amine is water-soluble, there is no need to dissolve the epoxy adduct polyamide amine in an organic solvent to form the film comprising the epoxy adduct polyamide amine. Further, the resulting epoxy adduct polyamide amine film is highly resistant to electrolyte leakage.
