  • Patent number: 6891290
Abstract: A fully enclosed type motor with outer fans includes a ventilation fan. The fan has radially extending blades on a bracket side, and radially extending blades on a core side. Outside air is let into an air passage as cooling air from an opening formed in the bracket on an inner side of the blades. The cooling air is fed into a cooling hole formed in an outer peripheral part of a stator core and then discharged to the outside. Air within the motor body, which is fed from the blades, is passed through an external heat exchanger and returned to the inside of the motor body.

  • Patent number: 5084641
Abstract: The air-cooled type induction motor used for railway vehicles such as the electric car generates sound waves (noise) which are uncomfortable to the ears of the human being when it is rotated. An induction motor according to the present invention has therein a plurality of waveguide (or air guide) plates for efficiently exhausting air, which serves to cool the motor, outside the motor. These waveguide plates are arranged not to resonate with the frequency of the sound waves which are generated by the cooling air. The sound waves are guided outside the motor through the waveguide plates before it is amplified to a noise level which is uncomfortable to the ears of the human being. Noise caused when the motor is rotated at high speed can be thus eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4869823
Abstract: A solid-liquid separation apparatus wherein a solid-liquid mixture is introduced into a rotary filtration drum having filter cloth mounted thereon and is allowed to pass through the filter cloth to thereby separate the solids contained therein. The filter cloth has one surface facing the interior of the drum and covered with a napped filter layer which is formed by a multiplicity of fibers having a diameter of 0.1 to 10 .mu.m. The filter cloth preferably has an elongation percentage of not smaller than 1.0%. A base material of the filter cloth includes a weft extending along the rotational axis of the drum and a warp extending in the circumferential direction of the drum. The fibers of the napped filter layer are formed by napping chiefly the weft in the direction of the warp.
