  • Patent number: 10515481
Abstract: A method includes defining a virtual space including a virtual point of view associated with a first user and, a first and second object. The method includes defining a field of view based on a position of the virtual point of view and a detected motion of the user. The method includes generating a field-of-view image corresponding to the field of view. The method includes displaying the first object in a first mode; and displaying the second object in a second mode. The method includes detecting a position of gaze of the first user. The method includes detecting contact between the position of gaze and the first object. The method includes displaying the first or second object in a third mode in response to detection of the contact. The method includes moving the position of the virtual point of view to the first object in response to detection of the contact.

  • Patent number: 10432679
Abstract: A method to be executed by a first computer includes receiving at every first time interval a first signal output by a first sensor. The method further includes generating first data in accordance with the first signal. The method further includes receiving at every second time interval, which is shorter than the first time interval, a second signal output by a second sensor. The method further includes generating second data in accordance with the second signal. The method further includes generating a plurality of pieces of animation data including the first data and the second data. The method further includes transmitting the plurality of pieces of animation data to a second computer configured to communicate to/from the first computer. A total number of pieces of second data included in the plurality of pieces of animation data is smaller than a total number of pieces of second data generated by the first computer.

  • Patent number: 10410395
Abstract: A method includes defining a virtual space associated with a user. The virtual space includes an avatar object associated with the user, the avatar object comprising a head and a body. The method further includes acquiring, in response to a detected rotation of a head of the user, information representing an angular velocity of the detected rotation. The method further includes determining whether the angular velocity is equal to or greater than a threshold value. The method further includes rotating, in response to a determination that the angular velocity is equal to or greater than the threshold value, the head of the avatar object without rotating the body of the avatar object.

  • Publication number: 20190026950
Abstract: A method of providing a virtual space according to at least one embodiment of this disclosure includes defining a virtual space, wherein the virtual space comprises a first avatar object, the first avatar object is associated with a first user, and the first user is associated with a first head-mounted device. The method further includes determining a field of view of the first user based on a first virtual camera arranged in the virtual space. The method further includes displaying an image corresponding to the field of view of the first user on the first head-mounted device. The method further comprises arranging a first photography object in the virtual space, wherein the first photography object includes a user interface (UI) configured to receive from the first user a first operation of photographing in the virtual space. The method further includes identifying a photography range of the first photography object in response to receiving the first operation from the first user.

  • Publication number: 20180374275
Abstract: A method includes acquiring first content data. The method further includes defining a virtual space based on the first content data. The method further includes generating image data of a still image corresponding to a portion of the virtual space. The method further includes associating the image data with the first content data. The method further includes receiving instructions for replacing the first content data with second content data. The method further includes updating the image data to replace the first content data with the second content data in response to the receiving of the instructions for replacing.

  • Publication number: 20180329604
Abstract: A method including defining a virtual space to be shared by a first user and a second user. The virtual space includes a first object, a viewpoint and first, second and third places. The method includes arranging a second avatar object at the first place. The method includes providing a field-of-view image to the first user in accordance with a position of the viewpoint. The method includes identifying a first direction from the second place to the first object. The method includes identifying a ratio of the second avatar included in a first field of view for a case in which the viewpoint is arranged at the second place. The method includes identifying the second place as a recommended place. The method includes displaying first information for identifying the recommended place in the field-of-view image.

  • Publication number: 20180299948
Abstract: A method includes defining a virtual space and arranging in the virtual space an avatar object. The avatar has a second portion corresponding to a first portion of a user. The method includes detecting a position of the first portion. The method includes moving the second portion to a first position corresponding to the detected position of the first portion. The method includes determining whether the position of the first portion is not identifiable. The method includes moving, in response to a determination that the position of the first portion is not identifiable, the second portion to a second position corresponding to a previously detected position of the first portion. The method includes determining whether detection of the position of the first portion is resumed. The method includes moving the position of the second portion to a third position corresponding position corresponding to a position of the first portion.
