Provided is an anti-glare film including a light transmitting substrate, and an anti-glare layer having surface roughness on at least one surface of the light transmitting substrate. The anti-glare layer includes chain-like inorganic fine particles which have an area ratio of 30 to 94% in the thickness direction cross section of the anti-glare layer.
