  • Patent number: 8831313
Abstract: A method for detecting microorganisms, which comprises: a training step for forming, by a classifier, feature vectors based on color data on individual points within a subject region of training in a culture medium, mapping the points in the culture medium, that are specified by the feature vectors, on a high-dimensional feature space, and linearly separating a set of the points ? (x1), that are specified by the high-dimensional feature vectors thus obtained, to thereby color-classify the class (C1) of the culture medium; and a identifying step for forming, by a classifier, feature vectors based on color data on individual inspection points within a region in the culture medium using image data obtained by capturing an image of the culture medium under cultivation, mapping the inspection points (xj), that are specified by the feature vectors, on a high-dimensional feature space, and determining whether or not the mapped points ? (xj), that are specified by the high-dimensional feature vectors thus obtained, b

  • Patent number: 8831326
Abstract: Colonies growing on a culture medium surface may be more accurately counted with reduced variation in the counts obtained by capturing a plurality of images of the entire culture medium surface, wherein successive images are captured following rotation of the culture medium surface relative to the image capture apparatus by n/360 degrees where n is the number of images to be captured; performing data processing on image data of the entire culture medium surface of the petri dish at each specified angle; and the number of colonies in the petri dish is calculated by performing numerical processing on the number of colonies counted separately at each specified angle.

  • Publication number: 20110221994
Abstract: In an image display apparatus, a protruding portion is fixed to a chassis on a back side Z2 of a planar member and protrudes towards the planar member. The protruding portion has one or more first protruding members and one or more second protruding members and defines a small allowance region and a large allowance region for the planar member. In the small allowance region, an amount of displacement of the planar member towards the chassis side is regulated at most to a first predetermined value by the one or more first protruding members. In the large allowance region, an amount of displacement of the planar member towards the chassis side is regulated at most to a second predetermined value larger than the first predetermined value by the one or more second protruding member.

  • Patent number: 7776495
Abstract: A semiconductor device and a manufacturing method thereof in which the peripheral length of an aperture and the mechanical strength of cylinders in a cell can be increased without changing the occupation rate of patterns in the cell. By forming a slit in the middle of each mask pattern so as not to expose parts of wafer, the aperture of the wafer becomes nearly cocoon-shaped with a constriction in the middle. Thereby, the peripheral length of the aperture can be increased without changing the occupation rate of the mask patterns in a cell. Further, the shape of the bottom of the aperture also becomes nearly cocoon-shaped with a constriction in the middle, and therefore it is possible to increase the mechanical strength of cylinders.

  • Patent number: 7538081
Abstract: A fragrance composition having an excellent diffusivity and long-lasting property of fragrance and a cosmetic, toiletry, bath composition, food and drink and pharmaceutical having an excellent diffusivity and long-lasting property of fragrance by using a novel fixative. A compound represented by the following general formula (1) is incorporated in a fragrance composition or the foregoing products. The amount of the compound of the general formula (1) to be incorporated in the fragrance composition is preferably from 0.01 to 90% by weight. The amount of the compound of the general formula (1) to be incorporated directly in the foregoing products is preferably from 0.0001 to 2.0 times (by weight) the weight of the aroma composition and/or composition to be incorporated therein. In this arrangement, a fragrance composition or products having an enhanced diffusivity and long-lasting property of fragrance can be obtained without causing any safety problem on human being.

  • Patent number: 7364155
Abstract: In a standby state wherein a document is set in a document tray and can be supplied when needed, when a start signal is not inputted (S21: NO), a controller determines whether a document regulating plate has been operated or not based on a detection output of a document size detector for detecting a position of the document regulating plate (S31), and when the document regulating plate was operated (S31: YES), the controller lowers the document tray by a predetermined amount and stops it (S32). A lowered amount of the document tray can be arbitrarily set by a user through an operator control panel. With a sheet feeding apparatus, an image reading apparatus and an image forming apparatus constituted as described above, even in a state in which the document is set in the document tray, the set state can be easily canceled by operating the document regulating plate.

  • Publication number: 20070101964
Abstract: An engine fuel essentially consisting of alcohol may contain a relatively large amount of water in comparison with conventional gasoline and diesel oil, so that when water possibly penetrates into a clearance between an intake valve seat and a mounting reception portion of a cylinder head where the valve seat is to be mounted when the engine fuel essentially consisting of alcohol together with air is introduced into a cylinder through an air inlet having the intake valve seat. As a plating layer 14 is formed on the surface of an iron-based valve seat main body 17 provided at a mounting reception portion 13 formed at an air inlet 6 of a cylinder head 2 made of an aluminum alloy, the plating layer 14 intervenes between the cylinder head 2 and the valve seat main body 17, so that a potential difference between the dissimilar metals for the mounting reception portion 13 and the valve seat main body 17 is reduced through water, thereby preventing galvanic corrosion.
