  • Publication number: 20100127838
Abstract: An image-forming system includes a data-reading unit, a data-writing unit, and a restricting unit. The data-reading unit reads additional data from a first storing member of an original document. The data-writing unit writes the read additional data to a second storing member of a recording medium. The restricting unit gives a restriction to the additional data stored in the first storing member after the additional data is read, in order to prevent the additional data stored in the first storing member from being read subsequently.

  • Publication number: 20100110497
Abstract: An image-forming system includes a transmission device and an image-forming device. The transmission device includes a transmitting unit that transmits image data, command data instructing to form an image corresponding to the image data on a recording medium having a storing part and to write embedded data to the storing part, and first selection data indicating whether or not the image should be formed when the embedded data cannot be written in the storing part. The image-forming device includes an image-forming unit and a controlling unit. The controlling unit controls, when the image-forming unit cannot write the embedded data in the storing unit, the image-forming unit to form the image if the first selection data indicates that the image should be formed, and to fail to form the image if the first selection data indicates that the image should not be formed.

  • Patent number: 7558495
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided that may prevent wasteful image forming in a state in which the loss or partial loss can occur of an image portion. If the length of the supplied sheet in the transport direction is shorter than a regular size by a predetermined value or more, then the laser exposing operation based on the received image data of the second or subsequent pages is stopped.

  • Publication number: 20090086236
Abstract: An image forming device includes a sheet carrying body carrying a sheet thereon in a predetermined direction, a pattern selecting unit selecting one of a plurality of patterns that includes a first pattern and a second pattern, the first pattern including a plurality of marks aligned at intervals of a predetermined distance within a first range, the second pattern including a plurality of marks aligned at intervals of a predetermined distance within a second range shorter than the first range, a forming unit configured to form the selected pattern on the sheet carrying body and form an image on the sheet being carried on the sheet carrying body, a deviation determining unit determining a positional deviation of the image based upon the pattern formed, and a correcting unit performing positional deviation correction for the image to be formed on the sheet based upon the positional deviation determined.

  • Publication number: 20090002758
Abstract: A printer may be provided with a receiving device, a housing portion, a print device, a detecting device, a determination device, and a controller. The receiving device receives a print job including print data and type information specifying the type of print medium. The housing portion houses a print medium that has not been printed. The print device executes a print process that prints an image corresponding to the print data included in the print job on the type of print medium specified by the type information included in the print job. The detecting device detects whether the housing portion is housing the type of print medium specified by the type information included in the print job. The determination device determines whether the print process based on the print job has been started. The controller controls the print device based on information detected by the detecting device and information determined by the determination device.

  • Publication number: 20080240797
Abstract: During a first operation, at least one of a first pattern and a second pattern is formed on a first area of an image carrier, and at least the other pattern is formed on a second area of the image carrier. The first area corresponds to a half of the image carrier, while the second area corresponds to the remaining half of the image carrier. During a second operation, a second pattern is formed on an area of the image carrier where a first pattern is formed during the first operation, and a first pattern is formed on an area of the image carrier where a second pattern is formed during the first operation.

  • Publication number: 20080231875
Abstract: An image forming device, which is capable of double-side printing to form an image on each of first and second sides of a recording medium, includes a calibration unit configured to perform calibration for modifying quality of the image to be formed, a first judging unit configured to judge, for each page to be printed, whether the calibration is to be performed, a second judging unit configured to judge whether a page to be printed is one of a first side in one-side printing and a first side in the double-side printing, and a control unit configured to control the calibration unit to perform the calibration when the first judging unit judges that the calibration is to be performed, and the second judging unit judges that the page to be printed is one of the first side in the one-side printing and the first side in the double-side printing.
