The controller is capable of setting target plating film thickness, plating current, and plating time as a plate processing recipe. At least one of the plating current and the plating time is automatically corrected so that the actual plating film thickness and the target plating film thickness become equal to each other, and the result is reflected in the plate processing for the subsequent substrate.

    Abstract: The invention discloses a novel structure for an expandable anode to be used in diaphragm cells. This new structure comprises a conductor bar in the form of a copper core provided with a titanium layer having a first and a second pair of flexible expanders fixed thereto. The welding points of the second pair of expanders are positioned orthogonally with respect to the welding points of the first pair of expanders along the circumference of the conductor bar. Also the anode surfaces are connected by welding points to the pairs of expanders. The anode of the invention may be both a new anode and a conventional existing anode having only a first pair of expanders whereto the second pair of expanders is attached. With the device of the present invention the ohmic drop between the conductor bar and the anode surface is substantially decreased and further there is no risk of damaging the interface between the copper core and the titanium coating by an excessive thermal stress, due to the welding procedures.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a cashmere or vicuna-like fabric with a distinctive handle having more than 80 percent voids. A fabric is woven of warp yarns of synthetic fibers selected from polyester and polyamide fibers and crimped fibers which are readily soluble, and weft spun yarns of synthetic fibers selected from polyester and polyamide fibers of 0.4 to 1.4 denier or weft blended spun yarns of a blend of at least 70 wt. pct. of synthetic fibers of 0.4 to 1.4 denier selected from polyester and polyamide fibers and crimped fibers which are readily soluble. The nap on the fabric is raised and then the readily-soluble fibers are dissolved and substantially removed to form more than 80 percent voids in the fabric as calculated by the formula ##EQU1## wherein E is the percentage of voids in the fabric structure, W is the weight of the fabric in grams per square meter, T is the thickness of the fabric in millimeters and S is the specific gravity of the fibers in grams per cubic centimeter.
