  • Patent number: 4959825
Abstract: A recorded information reproducing apparatus, such as a video disk player, has a memory for storing video data of one field. The reproducing apparatus generates an address access detection signal when the absolute value of the difference between a generated write address and a generated read address of the memory decreases less than a predetermined value. The address access detection signal serves to change the phase difference between the synchronous signal in the read video signal and a standard synchronous signal which is synchronized with the read clock signal, thereby finely adjusting the time axis and changing the synchronization.

  • Patent number: 4853781
Abstract: A video processing system in which data obtained from sampling an input video format signal according to a first timing signal is written into a first memory according to the first timing signal. Data is read-out of the first memory according to a second timing signal having a frequency equal to N times that of a horizontal synchronizing frequency of the input signal, thereby obtaining data with no time-base fluctuation. M-samples of data from the first memory is then written into a second memory, and data from the second memory is read-out such that the read-out signal from the second memory has a different phase than that of the input video format signal. The system is operable for simultaneously stopping data being read-out of the first memory and data being written into the second memory for a period of time equal to R+kM samples of the input video format signal, wherein R is an integer remainder of N/M, and k is either a positive integer or zero.

  • Patent number: 4835623
Abstract: A video information playback system for playing the so called CLV disks which uses a digital video memory for enabling special playback mode operations such as the SLOW mode, the STILL mode, and the FAST mode. In order to simplify the construction of the system, a frequency of write and read clock signals used in the digital video memory is selected n times the horizontal synchronizing signal frequency. A time base servo control part of the system is controlled using a phase difference signal between a playback synchronizing signal and a reference signal whose frequency is 1/n time the frequency of the write and read clock signals. During a track jump operation for a special playback mode operation, a supply of the write clock signal and/or the read clock signal to the reference signal generator is stopped so that the phase difference is maintained constant before and after the track jump operation.

  • Patent number: 4814897
Abstract: Information recorded on a non-CAV type recording disk is detected by a pickup device having an information reading point repeatedly moved during spaced intervals in a radial direction across recording tracks on the disk in response to a special playback operation command. Predetermined portions of the information so picked up, during periods between track jump operations, are entered into a memory device and the stored information read out therefrom to provide playback information for the special playback operation. The information reading point is moved by the track jump operations to positions establishing a time period sufficient to enable stabilization of a time base error in the information, caused by said track jump operations, before entry of the information into the memory is begun.

  • Patent number: 4775811
Abstract: A phase comparison circuit for producing a voltage error signal proportional to the difference in phase between a reference signal and an input signal. The reference signal is in the form of a sawtooth wave signal having a fixed frequency and fixed period. The input signal may vary widely in frequency. Sample pulses are derived from the input signal and are used to sample the ramps of the sawtooth signal to produce the error signal. When the frequency of the input signal differs from that of the reference signal to such an extent that the sample pulses do not occur during the ramps of the sawtooth signal, the sawtooth signal is repeatedly shifted in phase by one of two fixed amounts, depending upon the direction of the frequency difference, until the sample pulses occur during the ramps of the sawtooth signal.

  • Patent number: 4763205
Abstract: A method for time axis control for performing both coarse and fine time axis adjustment in accordance with relative speeds of a recording disk and a playback unit while the playback unit is recording or reproducing signals on or from the disk, wherein a color image is displayed during a scanning operation, which displayed image is natural in appearance. The pickup unit is first caused to follow a track formed on the recording medium in a tracking control operation. Repetitive track jumping operations are then effected over successive tracks by moving the pickup unit. For the track jumping operations, a time constant circuit within a circuit which performs the fine time axis adjustment is reset at least for the duration of each track jumping operation.

  • Patent number: 4734630
Abstract: Method and system for phase comparison which uses a ramp-form signal generated from a reference frequency signal and a sampling pulse train signal synchronized with an input signal whose phase change is to be detected. The reference frequency signal, through a dividing circuit is normally utilized for generating the ramp-form signal while a shift pulse signal is generated when a phase of the sampling pulse train signal is deviated outside a predetermined section of each ramp portion of the ramp-form signal, and utilized for generating the ramp-form signal. By this feature, sampling times of the ramp-form signal are always maintained within the predetermined section of each ramp portion of the ramp-form signal even if a frequency of the input signal deviates very widely from the frequency of the reference frequency signal.
