  • Patent number: 9064440
Abstract: When image data which does not satisfy set conditions is input from a device which outputs image data, a display apparatus prevents a distortion of display. The display device includes a display unit that displays an image based on image data input from the PC, a connection control unit that executes connection control of setting transmission conditions including transmission line capacity of the image data to be output from the PC by transmitting and receiving control information to and from the PC, an input data determination unit that determines whether or not the image data to be input from the PC satisfies the transmission conditions, after the connection control, and a display control unit that sets a display state with the display unit as a predetermined display state, when it is determined that the image data to be input from the PC does not satisfy the transmission conditions.

  • Patent number: 9024924
Abstract: When image data which does not satisfy set conditions is input from a device which outputs the image data, a display apparatus performs normal display. The display apparatus includes a display unit which displays an image based on the image data input from the PC, a connection control unit which executes connection control of setting transmission conditions including transmission line capacity of the image data to be output from the PC by transmitting and receiving control information to and from the PC, and an input data determination unit which determines whether or not the image data to be input from the PC satisfies the transmission conditions, after the connection control. When the image data to be input from the PC does not satisfy the transmission conditions, the connection control unit requests re-execution of the connection control with respect to the PC.

  • Patent number: 8035607
Abstract: The invention provides an image display apparatus that includes: a frame memory into which inputted image data is stored; a statistical computation section that performs statistical computation on a gradation value of each pixel on the basis of the image data for each frame image; a correction section that corrects the image data stored in the frame memory on a frame-by-frame basis by means of a statistical computation result calculated at the statistical computation section; an image display section that performs image display by means of the image data corrected at the correction section; a light source control section that calculates a control amount applied to the amount of light emitted from a light source on the basis of the corrected image data and then controls the amount of light emitted from the light source in accordance with the control amount; and a still picture judgment section that makes a judgment as to whether the frame image constitutes a still picture or not.

  • Patent number: 7391414
Abstract: A controller includes a register storing a group of parameters including a driving-control parameter for controlling a data line driving circuit and a scanning line driving circuit, a parameter controller for updating values of the group of parameters stored in the register and for initializing the values of the group of parameters stored in the register when a reset signal RES is input, and a driving controller for controlling a data line driving circuit and a scanning line driving circuit in accordance with the driving-control parameter stored in the register. The driving controller controls the data line driving circuit and the scanning line driving circuit such that turn-off voltage is applied to a plurality of pixels after the parameter controller updates the values of the group of parameters by the reset signal.

  • Patent number: 6928118
Abstract: A video display apparatus and method capable of providing, even if an on-screen display device that operates only on a clock lower in speed than a dot clock synchronized with a video signal is used, high-definition on-screen display based on the dot clock. Based on a signal outputted from a control signal generator 1, a line memory 3 writes the on-screen signal outputted from an OSD generator 2 on a clock (CK2) lower in speed than the dot clock of the video signal, and reads the same on a clock (CK1) synchronized with the dot clock of the video signal. A switching part 4 inserts the on-screen signal synchronized with the dot clock of the video signal outputted from the line memory 3 into a predetermined period of the video signal by selectively switching outputs.
