  • Publication number: 20050078331
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a first pattern detecting mechanism, a memory, and a pattern identity determining mechanism. The first pattern detecting mechanism detects a background dot pattern embedded in a background image included in image data of an original image from the image data. The memory stores an anti-copy background dot pattern. The pattern identity determining mechanism compares the detected background dot pattern with the anti-copy background dot pattern stored in the memory and determines that the detected background dot pattern is substantially identical to the anti-copy background dot pattern stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 6869057
Abstract: An upper rail is slidably engaged with a lower rail in a manner to define an elongate enclosed space therebetween. A lock plate is placed in the elongate enclosed space and secured to the lower rail. A latch lever includes a pawl portion and an input arm and is placed in the elongate enclosed space. The latch lever is pivotally connected to the upper rail to pivot between a lock position where the pawl portion is engaged with a part of the lock plate to establish a locked engagement between the lower and upper rails and an unlock position where the pawl portion is released from the lock plate to cancel the locked engagement. The latch lever is pivoted in a direction from the lock position to the unlock position when the input arm is applied with an external force. A spring member is placed in the elongate enclosed space to bias the latch lever to pivot toward the lock position, An opening is formed in the upper rail for having a given part of the input arm projected outward therethrough.

  • Publication number: 20050041263
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a first memory, a data detector, a second memory, a third memory, and a determiner. The first memory stores a reference pattern including a plurality of reference basic units, each of which represents specific minimal information, is superposed on input image data, and represents specific entire information. The data detector detects a basic unit in the input image data based on the reference basic unit included in the reference pattern stored in the first memory. The second memory accumulates a number of basic units detected by the data detector. The third memory stores a predetermined value. The determiner determines whether the number of basic units detected by the data detector and stored in the second memory is equal to the predetermined value stored in the third memory.

  • Publication number: 20050019922
Abstract: A technique for controlling membrane denaturation reactions other than physical shear force was developed. For example, the present invention provides, a method for causing membrane disruption at a specific site by reacting a stimulus such as light with a compound that is activated by the stimulus, where the reaction occurs on a membrane such as a biomembrane. It also provides a membrane structure such as cells in which a specific site has been disrupted, which are obtained by the present method. Introduction of substances such as genes also became possible by using this membrane structure. Further provided is a membrane-destroying member for disrupting a membrane at a specific site. Thus, the present invention enabled, for example, easy membrane penetration using components constituting microelectrodes, micromanipulators, and microinjectors, which were conventionally hardly usable in penetrating cell membranes.

  • Publication number: 20040218833
Abstract: A camera system includes a display monitor which displays an image of an object, taken by an optical unit, on a screen of the monitor. A reading unit reads a preceding image and a current image among a plurality of partially overlapping images, from a memory device, the preceding image and the current image containing a common element. A determining unit determines a positional relation between the preceding image and the current image based on a common pattern derived from the common element in the two adjacent images read by the reading unit. A displaying unit displays an image indicating a boundary of the preceding image on the screen of the monitor at a shifted position according to the positional relation determined by the determining unit, with the current image concurrently displayed on the screen of the monitor.
