  • Patent number: 7141168
Abstract: The purpose of the invention is to provide a porous polyolefin membrane consistent with a simple composition that may be characterized by a small pore diameter and a high porosity by simplifying the manufacturing process to facilitate uniform dispersion of the components. Means to achieve the purpose—A porous polyolefin membrane is formed by melting and kneading a specific resin (C) which composition containing a polyolefin resin consisting of a crystalline polypropylene (A) and a propylene-?-olefin copolymer (B), dispersed in said crystalline polypropylene (A), to obtain a film-shaped melt, and forming a membrane from the said melt with specific conditions, followed by stretching of said membrane at least in one direction, which contains continuous pores in the region consisting of said copolymer (B).

Date of Patent: November 28, 2006
Assignees: Chisso Corporation, Chisso Petrochemical Corporation
Inventors: Hideshi Sakamoto, Junichi Yamauchi, Takashi Shimpuku

  • Patent number: 6284831
Abstract: Disclosed is a fiber reinforcement-containing polyolefin composition comprising a polyolefin resin component containing a graft modified polyolefin and/or an ionomer; a long fiber reinforcement having an average fiber diameter of 3 to 21 &mgr;m, of which fibers are arranged and dispersed in a pellet having a length of 3 to 30 mm prepared by molding the polyolfin resin component, in nearly parallel with each other; and a short fiber reinforcement having an average fiber length of 0.1 to 2 mm and an average fiber diameter of 3 to 21 &mgr;m, which is wholly dispersed at random; wherein the polyolefin resin component, long fiber reinforcement and short fiber reinforcement are contained in a specific amount, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5866648
Abstract: A long fiber-reinforced polymer alloy resin composition (C) is provided which is obtained by blending a master batch (A) containing a long fiber reinforcement (a2) having a length of 3 to 30 mm in a resin matrix of a polyamide resin (a1), with a substantially polymer-alloyed resin diluent (B) obtained by melt kneading 45 to 20% by weight of a crystalline polyolefin resin (b1) and 55 to 80% by weight of a polyamide resin (b2), the crystalline polyolefin resin (b1) containing a modified olefin crystalline polymer (b11) having been substantially modified with unsaturated carboxylic acids. In this resin composition (C), the amount of the long fiber reinforcement (a2) is in the range of 10 to 60% by weight, and the amount of the crystalline polyolefin resin (b1) in resin components ((a1)+(b1)+(2)) other than the long finer reinforcement (a2) is in the range of 20 to 45% by weight. This resin composition (C) is excellent in tensile strength and particularly excellent in repeated impact resistance properties.

  • Patent number: 5750616
Abstract: A fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composite material comprises a thermoplastic resin, 5 to 80% by weight of a fiber reinforcing material having an average diameter ranging from 3 to 21 .mu.m and an average length ranging from 0.3 to 30 mm, and 0.01 to 5% by weight of carbon black whose aggregate size upon primary cohesion is not more than 60 nm. The composite material permits effective prevention of any snapping of glass fibers for reinforcement in molded articles which are colored black or gray due to the contribution of the carbon black having a specific aggregate size incorporated into the resin along with the fiber reinforcing material. Therefore, the composite material can provide molded articles excellent in mechanical strength, for instance, all of tensile strength, flexural strength and Izod impact strength.
