    Abstract: An air-fuel ratio control system controls the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine. The engine is installed on an automotive vehicle having an automatic transmission provided with a locking-up device. The air-fuel ratio control system controls the air-fuel ratio to a predetermined air-fuel ratio leaner than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio when the locking-up device is engaged. The air-fuel ratio control system sets the predetermined air-fuel ratio to a value depending on whether the locking-up device is fully engaged or partially engaged.

    Abstract: A method of controlling the timing of fuel injection in an internal combustion engine, wherein the injection timing of each of a plurality of fuel injection valves provided respectively for as many cylinders is determined in response to engine operating conditions. When it is determined that the engine is in a first predetermined operating condition, fuel is injected into a cylinder that corresponds to the present pulse of a control signal upon generation of same. The control signal is generated at a predetermined crank angle before a top dead center of each cylinder at the start of the intake stroke in the cylinder. When the engine is in a second predetermined operating condition, fuel is injected into another cylinder that corresponds to a pulse of the control signal next to the present pulse, upon generation of the present pulse. Preferably, the first and second predetermined operating conditions are determined by the engine rotational speed and/or the engine temperature.

    Abstract: A fuel supply control method for an internal combustion engine in a cold state. A basic value of fuel supply quantity is corrected to an increased value by the use of a correction variable set based upon engine temperature and engine load. Intake air temperature is detected, and the correction variable is corrected by the detected intake air temperature. Preferably, the correction variable is corrected to a larger value as the detected intake air temperature is lower.
