  • Patent number: 10271308
Abstract: A system and method are provided to facilitate signaling between base stations controlled by alternate spectrum holders (ASH's) and individual multi-mode devices (MMD's) operating in communication with those base stations to indicate an ability to a global spectrum marketplace of an ability of the base stations and/or the individual MMD's to support communication in both International Mobile Telecommunication (IMT) and non-IMT bands is support of a dynamic spectrum allocation scheme. The disclosed systems and methods may be based on a modification of the 3rd Generation Partnership Protocol (3GPP®) Long Term Evolution (LTE®) standard so that non-IMT licensed spectrum can be included in LTE® or LTE-Advanced® multi-band carrier aggregation.

  • Patent number: 9814971
Abstract: A method of controlling a fighting game is provided by a controller of a game terminal including the controller and a touch screen panel. The controller receives a selection of any one from among a plurality of avatars through the touch screen panel, receives, from a game management server, information on an avatar technique set including a plurality of technique that is set by other player corresponding to the selected avatar, and starts a match-up between a character corresponding to a player of the game terminal and the selected avatar. The controller repeatedly performs a process including selecting any one technique from among the plurality of techniques included in the avatar technique set and actuating the selected technique on the character.

  • Patent number: 9662579
Abstract: A social network game and a server device are provided. It is so configured that registered users have different items depending on their registered groups; connections with other users which are the characteristics of the social network game are achieved in a fighting game; and the timings of communication between the server and a portable terminal are reduced as much as possible during the game, whereby communication errors and interruption of the game are avoided.

  • Patent number: 9648589
Abstract: A system and method are provided to implement dynamic spectrum access with individual multi-mode devices that incorporate multiple radios in a single device. A multi-mode device is configured to make use of the incremental spectrum by maintaining a data communication link via a base station that is operated by a primary operator to support communications in the primary operator's exclusively-licensed spectrum. This data communication link is maintained by a first radio, the data communication link being used to support a first level of data communication as well as to signal an availability of additional spectrum to the multi-mode device. The multi-mode device may request access to additional spectrum. A second radio may facilitate access to received additional spectrum with the multi-radio multi-mode device.

  • Publication number: 20150296485
Abstract: A system and methods are provided for specifying how multiple transactions may be initiated and/or terminated for available spectrum in a cloud spectrum services architecture. Transactions may be specified according to common time-frequency units or TFU's. Primary spectrum holders (PSH's) advertise availability of their underused spectrum, with specified parameters and conditions on procuring access to the spectrum to a regional spectrum marketplace. Requests for spectrum availability are made according to a specified number of TFU's as requested by an alternate spectrum holder (ASH) or a multi-mode device (MMD). Any of a participating PSH, an ASH, an MMD or a cloud-based entity may initiate communications with other entities in an effort to complete or facilitate a transaction by which a number of available TFU's are provided to an ASH or MMD for use.

  • Publication number: 20150249926
Abstract: An approach is provided for managing a dynamic sharing of available spectrum services. The approach involves causing information corresponding to one or more available spectrum services provided by one or more spectrum service holders to be stored in a cloud spectrum service database. The approach also involves processing a request for spectrum sharing to cause a determination to share one or more of the one or more available spectrum services with a source of the request for spectrum sharing based on a matching of one or more spectrum sharing criteria stored in the cloud spectrum service database and one or more service criteria associated with the source of the request for spectrum sharing. The approach further involves causing one or more of the one or more available spectrum services to be allocated to the source of the request for spectrum sharing based on the matching.

  • Patent number: 8996060
Abstract: A communication apparatus associated with a system that uses two or more wireless standard in IMT and non-IMT bands. The invention is a wireless device with the ability to operate, transmit and/or receive, in one or more IMT bands and one or more non-IMT bands that are licensed to services and/or applications other than IMT. This is accomplished through inclusion in the wireless device of one or more radios operating in licensed IMT bands, an “IMT radio”, and one or more radios operating in licensed non-IMT bands, a “non-IMT radio”. A non-IMT radio could be a stand-alone, separate radio inside the wireless device or an extension or modification of the IMT radio in a way that it covers non-IMT bands.

  • Patent number: 8972311
Abstract: A platform to facilitate transferring spectrum rights is provided that includes a database to ascertain information regarding available spectrum for use in wireless communications. A request for spectrum use from an entity needing spectrum may be matched with available spectrum. This matching comprises determining a pattern in user requests overtime to optimize spectrum allocation. The Cloud Spectrum Services (CSS) process allows entities to access spectrum they would otherwise not have; it allows the end user to complete their download during congested periods while maintaining high service quality; and it allows the holder of rental spectrum to receive compensation for an otherwise idle asset.

  • Patent number: 8938271
Abstract: A cloud spectrum manager (CSM) for managing the sharing of spectrum among multiple operators in a distributed computing environment. The cloud spectrum manager comprises an allocation service component which applies a resource allocation policy to determine whether the requested spectrum from an operator may be allocated. The allocation of spectrum allows the operator to get spectrum from the CSM at wholesale prices and then the operator manages the rented spectrum with its associated client devices. The operator manages the rented spectrum, perform their own analytics & optimization and offer spectrum services to the clients. The demands on the CSM are alleviated since it can manage spectrum at whole sale quantities and leave the finer grain device to device management to the operator.
