A light receiving section receives the light output from the measuring object and outputs a signal showing a measured value of a received light. A plurality of amplifiers receive the signal output from the light receiving section and amplify the signal at each predetermined amplification factor.

    Abstract: An evaporated fuel treatment device in which performance of a canister can be improved, with the result that efficiency in treatment of evaporated fuel can be enhanced. In the evaporated fuel treatment device, a purge control valve, conventionally disposed on a purge passage, is removed, such that the canister is directly subject to a negative pressure generated on the side of an inlet pipe at the time of starting of an engine. Consequently, a great attraction force acts on the evaporated fuel adsorbed within the canister. Also, by restricting a flow of air introduced into the canister by means of a flow control valve, the negative pressure applied to the canister can further be increased. As a result, in the evaporated fuel treatment device of the invention, the amount of the evaporated fuel which can be desorbed from the canister is larger than that of a conventional device.

    Abstract: A four-wheel drive vehicle with free wheels having free wheel hub mechanisms which utilize intake pipe negative pressure which is kept from being in the negative pressure state for a long time to diminish loading of the sealing members and improve the durability of the free wheel hub mechanisms. In the free wheel hub mechanism, a negative pressure change-over valve is disposed in an intake pipe negative pressure introducing passage to not only open or close the passage but also open it to the atmosphere. A timer is also provided to operate the negative pressure change-over valve so that the negative pressure introducing passage is opened to the atmosphere after lapse of a certain time from when a transfer switches over to two- or four-wheel drive until when the intake pipe negative pressure becomes constant.

    Abstract: A clock signal generator circuit has a clock generator for generating clock signals to be supplied to a central processing unit and to functional blocks, and clock selectors. The clock generator divides the frequency of a source clock signal, to form a clock signal having an optional period. Namely, the clock generator suppresses at least one active or inactive state of the source clock signal, to generate a clock signal whose period is an integer multiple of that of the source clock signal. The clock selectors receive the clock signals generated by the clock generator and selectively supply them to the CPU and functional blocks. The clock signal generator circuit is capable of operating a microcontroller system at a required minimum speed, to optimize the power consumption of the system.

    Abstract: In an optical time domain reflectometer, an optical pulse output unit supplies optical pulses intermittently to an optical fiber to be measured in accordance with the input timing of a cyclic signal. In response to the intermittent supply of the optical pulses, a reflected light data sampling unit samples the signal obtained from the optical fiber while the optical pulses are being supplied, while a noise data sampling unit samples the signal obtained from the optical fiber when the optical pulses are not supplied. Each of two or more groups of reflected light data and noise data obtained by the above sampling operations is averaged. After the averaging operations, an waveform data operating unit subtracts the noise data from the reflected light data in the common mode components corresponding to each other in terms of time, and then transforms the resultant data logarithmically to thereby operate the waveform data thereof.

    Abstract: A main body of a lens-fitted photographic film unit is provided with a film wind-up mechanism, a taking lens and a shutter mechanism. The main body with an unexposed film incorporated is covered by a front cover and a rear cover, which are directly attached to each other by arresting claws in holes formed thereon. The main body is positioned by being held fixedly between the two covers in order to prevent the main body from being damaged when the two covers are removed. In a preferred embodiment, the main body is provided with an electronic flash device, which is operated in synchronism with a shutter blade by use of an X contact. A pair of terminals of metal plates extend toward, and are in contact with, a printed circuit board which is removably supported on the main body by cooperation of supporting members and a supporting plate, both of which are formed outside a light-shielding tube of the main body.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an automobile bumper which is formed of a thermoplastic multicomponent resin composition and which is improved in weatherability and impact resistance at low temperatures and also in surface glossiness. Essentially the resin composition is a blend of 22-28 wt % of a hydrogenated block copolymer of an aromatic vinyl compound such as styrene and a conjugated diene such as butadiene, 32-56 wt % of a propylene-ethylene block copolymer in which the content of ethylene is 1-10 wt % and 22-28 wt % of an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber. Optionally, up to 5 wt % of talc and/or up to 7 wt % of low-pressure low-density polyethylene may be added. Some physical properties of the ingredients are specified such that the resin composition has a melt index not lower than 5 g/10 min at 230.degree. C. under load of 2.16 kg and a modulus of elasticity in bending in the range from 2000 to 4000 kg/cm.sup.2.
