  • Patent number: 7450170
Abstract: When a brightness level of an object is below a predetermined level, an ND filter is removed from an iris opening to fully open the iris opening, and when the brightness level of the object is above a predetermined level, the ND filter is placed to the iris opening to fully close the iris opening. When the ND filter is moved between the fully-opened state and the fully-closed state, an exposure change amount corresponding to an amount offsetting the exposure change amount due to a state transition is generated by controlling iris blades.

  • Patent number: 5381189
Abstract: A liquid cooling type projector is provided with greater flexibility to meet different screen sizes of a projection television and, thus, contributes to the reduction of production cost. The projector has a cylindrical frame containing a projection lens unit mounted by a liquid-tight member thereto and coupled at a rear end to a CRT in liquid-tight arrangement such that a liquid-sealing space is established between the projection lens and the CRT. In particular, the projection lens unit is arranged so as to be movable with respect to the frame along its optical axis. Also, the liquid-tight member is arranged to maintain the liquid-tight condition regardless of the position of the projection lens unit relative to the frame. Thus, the projection lens unit can arbitrarily be displaced towards and away from the CRT, increasing a focusing range.

  • Patent number: 5218484
Abstract: A lens frame consists of a lens barrel with a built-in projection lens and a support member in which the lens barrel is inserted and supported. The lens barrel has on its outer surface a pair of axially spaced projections as a slide member. The support member has on its inner surface projected guide strips that extend inclined with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axis of the support member. The support member also has axially extending ribs on the inner surface that tightly engage with the outer surface of the lens barrel as the latter is inserted into the former, in order to keep their axes aligned. With the lens barrel inserted and the projected guide strip received between the paired projections, the lens barrel is rotated and the paired projections are guided along the inclined projected guide strip, causing the lens barrel to move forward or backward in the axial direction. In this way, the focus adjustment can easily be made.
