  • Patent number: 7295355
Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes an image reading device having a plurality of solid-state image sensing device arrays arranged to be parallel to each other, the image reading device for optically reading an image on an original and a registration adjusting device for performing a position variable process operation to correct a gap of a position to be read on the original, which corresponds to intervals between the solid-state image sensing device arrays.

  • Patent number: 6817788
Abstract: To aim at achieving reduction in size and weight of a diaphragm device provided with an optical filter insertable into and retractable from a light path, so that the diaphragm device can be easily installed into a lens tube of a CCTV camera. The diaphragm device comprises a diaphragm board 10 having an aperture 10a forming a light path, a pair of diaphragm blades 12 and 13 disposed on one face of the diaphragm board and adjusting the aperture of the diaphragm for the light path by sliding along the board face, a diaphragm driving device 20 driving the diaphragm blades 12 and 13 to adjust the aperture of the diaphragm for the light path, an optical filter (infrared cutoff filter) 15 having transmission characteristics in accordance with a wave length, and a filter driving device 30 to insert the optical filter into and retract it from the light path.

  • Patent number: 5860042
Abstract: A cooling fan is rotated to cool an irradiation lamp and a read sensor during the reading operation and the standby period both. Although an airflow from the cooling fan is maximized during the reading operation, the airflow is reduced to the extent that a temperature rise originating from the self-generation of heat on the part of the read sensor in the standby condition is suppressed. Thus the temperature of the read sensor is kept constant and the characteristics of the read sensor are prevented from fluctuating. The airflow from the cooling fan can also be regulated by controlling the operating voltage to be applied to a motor for rotating the cooling fan and placing movable airflow regulating plates in the passage of the wind blown from the cooling fan. Thereby, accurate reading can be conducted in any color image reading apparatus since it is possible to minimize variation in the temperature of a read sensor for a certain time after the image reading operation is started.

  • Patent number: 5212523
Abstract: An image read device in which an original document located on a platen glass is exposed to and scanned with a light from a light source, to obtain a light image representative of a picture on the original, and the light image is guided through an optical system including at least first to third mirror elements into an image pick-up unit, is improved in that the natural frequencies of the first to third mirror elements are different from each other. In the image read device, the thicknesses of the second and third mirror elements may be different from each other. Further, the thickness of the first mirror element may be larger than the width of the reflecting surface of the first mirror element as viewed in the slow scan direction.
