  • Patent number: 6254701
Abstract: A sliding bearing having improved seizure resistance has the following structure. (a) A bearing layer (2). It comprises a copper alloy containing in a Cu matrix Ag, Sn, Sb, In, Mn, Fe, Bi, Zn, Ni and/or Cr. (b) A fisrst sub-layer (3) of the bearing layer (2). It (3) contains concentrated element, hexagonal compound or eutectic of said element(s). (c) A second sub-layer (2a) in which said element in essential solid-solution state. (d) Metal backing (1).

  • Patent number: 6025081
Abstract: The copper-based sliding material has improved seizure resistance, even if it is free of Pb, and enables thinning of the overlay. The copper alloy provided consists of from 0.1 to 2% of Ag, from 1 to 10% of Sn, and the balance consisting of Cu and unavoidable impurities and, further said Ag and Sn do not essentially form the secondary phases but are in complete or essentially solid-solution state in the Cu matrix.

  • Patent number: 5882587
Abstract: An overlay alloy for sliding bearing is deposited on a lining by plating and consists of from 2 to less than 5% of tin, from 0.05 to 10% of indium, from 0.05 to 5% of copper, the balance consisting of lead and unavoidable compound. Seizure at high speed travel is almost completely eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5286444
Abstract: Copper bearing alloy comprises more than 4% by weight and up to 35% by weight of Bi, 0.2 to less than 1.5% by weight of Pb and the rest of Cu. This considerably improves the erosion resistance while maintaining the excellent seizure resistance and fatigue strength.

  • Patent number: 4941919
Abstract: The sintered sliding material according to the present invention consists of from 0.1 to 10% by of graphite, from 1 to 7% by of alumina, and balance of copper, and occasionally at least one member selected from the group consisting of from 1 to 10% of Sn and from 1 to 30% of Pb, and/or not more than 1% of P, and includes the alumina dispersed in the copper matrix. The alumina is held by the copper matrix so that the particles of alumina are not separated from the material during sliding under a boundary lubricating condition.
