  • Patent number: 7858164
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a textile extending a length between a first end and a second end. The textile also extends a dimension transverse to the length. The dimension can be a width or a circumference. The apparatus also includes a first bonded portion adjacent to the first end to limit fraying at the first end. The apparatus also includes a second bonded portion spaced from the first bonded portion along the length to limit fraying at the first end.

  • Publication number: 20080135119
Abstract: An elongate sleeve for protecting elongate members and method of construction thereof has a textile sleeve with a wall having an inner surface providing a cavity extending along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve for receiving the elongate members. A resilient support member is arranged in communication with the wall. The support member has an arcuate shape in lateral cross-section with an outer convex surface facing outwardly from the axis for flush engagement with the inner surface of the wall and an inner concave surface facing inwardly toward the axis. The support member extends less than completely about a circumference of the inner surface.

  • Patent number: 5718595
Abstract: A socket for removably mounting an electric part such as an IC package (30) has a cover (14) which when pushed down from a raised at rest position causes a drive shaft (26) fixed to the cover (14) to move down rotating a first lever (36) and actuating a second lever (38). Upon such rotation a latch (48) moves to a receded position which is obliquely above a plurality of contact elements (28) and, at the same time, vertically movable arms (50) rise to a selected vertical position from a cavity (52). The IC package (30) is then received on the vertically movable arms (50).

  • Patent number: 5308256
Abstract: A socket for use in mounting of an electrical part with lead members has a main base member with contact elements secured therein and a reciprocating cover member movable up and down with respect to said base member and including a cam member adapted to engage said contact elements so that as said cover member moves from a first original position to a second position and back again the contact elements likewise move from the first position to a second position and then back again to the first position. This movement allows the insertion of the electrical part into the socket and the contacting of the contact elements with the lead members.

  • Patent number: 4902235
Abstract: A socket for mounting an integrated circuit unit on a printed circuit board comprises a plurality of inserts of a platable electrically insulating material each having an opening and an exterior surface portion. The inserts are mounted in rows in a support body so the openings are accessible from one side of the body and the exterior surface portions are exposed at an opposite side of the body. Electrically conductive layers are provided on the inner surfaces of the insert openings, preferably by electroless plating techniques using the body as a plating mask, to extend to the exterior surface portions of the inserts to be soldered to circuit paths on the printed circuit board at prescribed circuit locations. Contacts are disposed in the insert openings in electrical engagement with the electrically conductive layers therein for resiliently and detachably electrically engaging terminals of integrated circuit units or the like inserted into the openings.

  • Patent number: 4883428
Abstract: A socket having contacts mounted on an electrically insulating body for detachably connecting terminal pins of an integrated circuit unit into a test circuit during testing of the integrated circuit unit has circuit components such as resistors incorporated on a base board accommodated at the bottom of the insulating body, the resistors being connected to the respective contacts and having terminal pins extending therefrom to be connected into the test circuit, thereby to provide an external resistance for each integrated circuit pin during testing in a compact and convenient manner to permit high unit density during testing.

  • Patent number: 4859191
Abstract: A multi-piece connector assembly comprising a first interconnect member having a plurality of contact pins, and a second interconnect member having a plurality of apertures, the first and second interconnect members being matingly engageable with each other for allowing desired ones of the contact pins to be fitted into desired ones of the apertures. The mating engagement between the two interconnect members is achieved without involving deformation of each of the interconnect members or removal of any of the contact pins from the first interconnect member.
