  • Publication number: 20140264202
Abstract: The problem of the present invention is to overcome drawbacks of conventional optical filters such as near-infrared cut filters and to provide an optical filter which generates little scatted light even during light absorption and has excellent transmittance property. The optical filter of the present invention is characterized by containing a squarylium-based compound and a compound which absorbs or quenches fluorescence of the squarylium-based compound. The optical filter of the present invention preferably contains a near-infrared absorbing dye containing a squarylium compound (A) and at least one compound (B) selected from the group consisting of a phthalocyanine-based compound (B-1) and a cyanine-based compound (B-2).

  • Publication number: 20140023359
Abstract: A local oscillation light source outputs locally-oscillated light. An light receiving unit phase-separates an input optical signal by making the optical signal interfere with the locally-oscillated light and outputs an analog electric signal corresponding to the phase-separated optical signal. An analog-to-digital converting unit converts the analog electric signal into a digital signal. A processing unit performs digital signal processing by using the digital signal. A failure detection unit determines whether or not the optical signal is being input to the light receiving unit, or detects a failure in the light receiving unit, the analog-to-digital converting unit or the processing unit based on light intensity of the optical signal, whether or not the analog electric signal can be generated in the light receiving unit, and an amplitude of the analog electric signal output from the light receiving unit.

  • Patent number: 8084563
Abstract: A cyclic olefin addition copolymer includes a structural unit (1) derived from a cyclic olefin compound with a C4 alkyl substituent group and a structural unit (2) derived from a cyclic olefin compound with a C5-12 alkyl substituent group, and optionally includes a structural unit (3) derived from another cyclic olefin compound. The novel cyclic olefin addition copolymers according to the present invention are excellent in melt-formability, transparency and heat resistance, have low water absorption properties, low dielectric constant and low metal content, and are suitably used in optical parts such as optical films. Processes according to the present invention produce the cyclic olefin addition copolymers at high yield with small amounts of catalysts.
