    Abstract: A digital transmission system is disclosed in which a transmission signal is converted according to a CMI (coded mark inversion) coding rule. A sub-information signal is superposed on a main signal in accordance with violation of the CMI coding rule. Error pulses are added in a manner that prevents overlap with the sub-information superposing signal, thereby preventing the loss of error information.
