  • Patent number: 4943615
Abstract: The present invention relates to an olefin copolymer composition, which olefin copolymer composition contains (A) 25 to 97 wt. % of a propylene copolymer, and (B) 75 to 3 wt. % of a butene-1 copolymer having a content of .alpha.-olefin unit with 2 to 8 carbon atoms of 1 to 35 mol %, an intrinsic viscosity of 0.9 to 7.2 dl/g measured in decalin heated to 150.degree. C., a value of weight-average molecular weight/number-average molecular weight of 4 to 15, a temperature difference of 2.degree. to 40.degree. C. between the highest value and the lowest value of the melting point measured by the differential scanning calorimetric analysis, and a .alpha.-olefin block property of 0.015 or lower measured by the nuclear magnetic resonance spectral analysis, can provide molded items excellent, for example, in heat-sealing properties, transparency, blocking resistance, and surface gloss, and is good in processability.

  • Patent number: 4550143
Abstract: The invention provides a novel resin composition of polymers of ethylene capable of giving a shaped article having outstandingly excellent mechanical properties but yet having very good processability or moldability. The resin composition is composed of 15-90% by weight of a homopolymer of ethylene and 85-10% by weight of a copolymer of ethylene and characterized by several parameters including the intrinsic viscosity, density and swelling ratio as well as satisfaction of the relationships between the melt index and the intrinsic viscosity and between the melt index and the melt tension expressed by the respective logarithmic equations. Industrially feasible processes for the preparation of such resin compositions are described in detail.
