Publication number: 20110217186Abstract: A high pressure fuel pump for use with a direct injection engine having a housing which defines a pump chamber. A port is formed in the housing which fluidly connects a fuel in the passageway with the pump chamber. An elongated valve is movably mounted within the housing between an open and a closed position. In its open position, the inlet passageway is fluidly connected with the pump chamber while, conversely, in the closed position the fuel valve blocks the fluid flow between the inlet passageway and the pump chamber. A circuit controls the deceleration of the valve to reduce pump noise.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2010Publication date: September 8, 2011Applicant: Hitachi, LtdInventors: Takashi Yoshizawa, Donald J. Patent number: 6490994Abstract: A plasma processing apparatus that allows processing of high quality under a wider processing condition is provided by optimizing the distance between a plasma region and a substrate even in the case where the processing condition such as process pressure or high frequency output differs. A plasma chamber is divided into a lower plasma chamber and an upper plasma chamber. A process chamber and the lower plasma chamber are connected flexibly by a lower chamber bellows. The lower plasma chamber and the upper plasma chamber are connected flexibly by an upper chamber bellows. Since the radioactive species volume is increased when the process pressure is low, the lower and upper plasma chambers are respectively raised. In contrast, since the radioactive species volume is reduced when the process pressure is high, the upper and lower plasma chambers are respectively lowered.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2000Date of Patent: December 10, 2002Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Takashi Yoshizawa

Patent number: 6222804Abstract: This invention provides an optical head apparatus that is not influenced by the offset component contained in a track deviation signal and the track offset caused by lens shift control. According to an optical head apparatus of this invention, portions of light-receiving regions of a photodetector for detecting a track deviation signal are used as offset component detection light-receiving regions for removing any offset component from a track deviation signal. With this arrangement, the offset component contained in a track deviation signal, i.e., the influence of a lens shift on a tracking error signal, is removed by using light from the region where all the 0th-order diffracted light, 1st-order diffracted light, and −1st-order diffracted light of the light reflected by the optical disk overlap each other.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 1998Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventor: Takashi Yoshizawa

Patent number: 5999507Abstract: A lens holder is provided with objective lenses of different types. Rotating the lens holder causes one of the objective lenses to be placed in the optical path of the laser beam. Near one objective lens, there is provided a reflecting element that reflects part of the laser beam directed to the objective lens. When the objective lens is put in the optical path, the beam from the reflecting element is sensed by a sensor. From the sensing result, it is judged that a specific type of objective lens is in the optical path. Accordingly, there is provided an objective lens driving apparatus that includes at least two objective lenses with different numerical apertures according to optical information recording mediums complying with different standards, is capable of switching between the objective lenses according to the optical information recording medium to be used, and further has a simple structure capable of identifying the type of the objective lens selected by switching.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1998Date of Patent: December 7, 1999Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventor: Takashi Yoshizawa
