  • Publication number: 20030081417
Abstract: A bulb socket (S) has a main body (D) and a restricting projection (15) is formed continuously on an outer circumferential surface (18) of the main body (D) over the entire circumference. An O-ring (14) is fitted on the main body (D) behind the restricting projection (15). Thus, the restricting projection (15) contacts the O-ring (14) during detachment of a bulb socket (S), thereby separating the O-ring (14) from a sealing surface (16a) of an edge (16) of a mount hole (11). Further, the restricting projection (15) contacts a contact surface (16b) of the edge (16) during the mounting of the bulb socket (S), thereby preventing the bulb socket (S) from being pushed any further. This prevents the excessive squeezing of the O-ring (14) and prevents a reduction in its sealing function.

  • Publication number: 20020106943
Abstract: A reinforcement rib is provided at a bottom connecting wall between a tab part and a main body part of a terminal fitting. The rear end of the rib extends slightly past the front end position of the main body part, and the front end of the rib is formed to extend to a position slightly forward of the rear end of the tab part. Also, the rib is formed to have a generally U-shaped cross-section. Accordingly, reinforcement of the boundary portion is possible, and even though a stress is concentrated on the boundary portion between the tab part and the main body part, the possibility of deformation can be reduced. Thus, male terminal fittings are provided in which deformation at the boundary portion of the tab part and the main body part rarely occurs.

  • Patent number: 6012933
Abstract: A lever-type electrical connector has resilient return members 40 which extend so as to cut across a radius of a circle which is the center of rotation of the lever 30, and have an anterior end 41 which bends outwards along the radial direction. In this configuration, the anterior end of the pushing member 40 does not protrude excessively from the arm 31, thereby allowing the interaction region of the pushing member 40 that accompanies the pivoting of the lever 30 to be small. Furthermore, the anterior end 41 is pushed in a straight line against the protrusion 25, and thus the return force is more effective.

  • Patent number: 5947762
Abstract: A latching member has a flange provided so as to extend along the inner face of an electric wire cover. This flange shields a space between an edge of a cut away of the cover and the external peripheral face of the latching member, thereby ensuring that the interior of the cover does not open out directly towards the exterior. Due to this, water is prevented from entering the interior of the electric wire cover.

  • Patent number: 5928010
Abstract: In a latching member of a molded component, a facing face (19A) of a release member (19) located at an anterior end of a resilient latching member (17) is made parallel to a stopping face (18B) of a protrusion (18). By doing this, the moulding of the stopping face (18B) is carried out by a mould part (20C) whose mould opening direction is parallel to the stopping face (18B) and the facing face (19A), thus obviating the need to leave a mould removing hole in the release member (19).

  • Patent number: 5904583
Abstract: Protrusions 35 are formed on cam grooves 33 of arm 32 of a lever 30 for the purpose of holding connector housings 10 and 20 in a preliminary fitted state. Engagement pins 12 are prevented from disconnecting from the respective cam grooves 33 when the female connector housing 10 is inserted slightly into a hood 21 of the male connector housing 20 such that he connector housings 10 and 20 are held in the preliminary fitted state. Accordingly, the lever 30 can be turned smoothly. Since no hole communicating between the interior and the exterior of the connector is formed in the inner part of the hood 21, there is no possibility that water may penetrate into the hood 21.

  • Patent number: 5876225
Abstract: A lever connector assembly has a stopping projection 35, which serves to hold a lever 30 in an initial position, and is located in such a position that it is distant from a trace described by a cam pin 12 as the cam pin 12 is inserted into a cam groove 34. When connectors 10 and 20 are in an initial fitting state, the cam pin 12 is inserted into the cam groove 34. Pivoting of the lever 30 results in a pressing member 13 engaging the stopping projection 35 and moving it outwards, to separate from the fitting groove 24. The amount of movement of the projection 35 is reduced compared with the prior art, and as a consequence frictional resistance to movement is lower.

  • Patent number: 5607319
Abstract: An engagement type connector assembly in which the arrangement of terminals is miniaturized. The connector assembly includes male and female connectors in which the female connector swings about a pair of supporting shafts provided at its end so as to be engaged with the male connector. The female connector includes a female housing and an outer frame. A pair of rotating shafts protrudes from the female housing in such a manner that the rotating shafts are in parallel with the supporting shafts so that the female housing is swingably coupled to the outer frame through the rotating shafts. That is, the female housing is supported through the rotating shaft on the outer frame. Hence, in engaging the female connector with the male connector by swinging the female connector, the female housing is allowed to swing independently of the outer frame, thus being correctly aligned with the male housing. Therefore, the inlets of the female terminals into which the male terminals are inserted may be made more compact.

  • Patent number: 5509816
Abstract: Symmetrical communication portions formed in respective inner surfaces of arms of a lever extend from an inner end surface of a guide groove to an inner peripheral surface of a rotation hole. To connect the lever to the selected housing, the lever is moved parallel relative to the male housing in such a manner that rotation pins move along the respective guide grooves and communication portions until they are rotatably received in the respective rotation holes. Accordingly, there is no need to elastically deform the lever in order to attach the lever to the housing, and therefore, the burden on the operator is small because the two rotation pins are simultaneously guided to the respective rotation holes by the respective guide grooves. Therefore the attaching operation can be carried out easily and positively. After the lever is attached to the selected housing, another housing may be connected to the selected housing also using the communication portions of the lever.
