  • Patent number: 9803522
Abstract: An exhaust structure for a straddle-type vehicle includes a muffler having an outer tube constituting an outer circumferential member of the muffler; first and second separators defining expansion chambers in the outer tube; a body end member arranged at the downstream end of the outer tube; and glass wool provided on the inner circumference of the outer tube. The muffler further includes a resonator chamber provided in the most downstream portion of the muffler. The resonator chamber is formed by the outer tube, the body end member and the second separator situated closest to the body end member. The surroundings of the resonator chamber are surrounded by the glass wool. Such exhaust structure of a straddle-type vehicle is capable of taking measures against exhaust heat and exhaust sound even with a configuration where there is only one, single resonator chamber.

  • Patent number: 9592869
Abstract: A rear seat for a saddle type vehicle that is readily adjustable without changing the position of a main seat to improve the riding comfort of the rear seat. A saddle type vehicle includes a head pipe, a main frame provided behind the head pipe and a seat rail extending to the rear of the main frame. A main seat is provided with a rear seat provided behind the main seat and formed as a separate member from the main seat. The rear seat is attached to a rear seat holding portion provided at a rear portion of the seat rail through a base plate for holding the rear seat thereon. The rear seat can be moved forwardly and rearwardly by making it possible for the base plate to be fixed at a plurality of positions in the forward and rearward direction with respect to the rear seat holding portion.

  • Patent number: 8695328
Abstract: An exhaust purifying apparatus achieving placement of components so as to prevent an increase in the size of the vehicle caused by the placement of the exhaust purifying apparatus while maintaining the performance of the exhaust purifying apparatus by secondary air in a saddle-ride type vehicle. An exhaust purifying apparatus of a saddle-ride vehicle includes a secondary air supply pipe of which one end is connected an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine. A secondary air control valve is connected with the other end of the secondary air supply pipe for controlling the supply of secondary air to the secondary air supply pipe. An outdoor air introduction passage is connected to the secondary air control valve, wherein an air filter for secondary air and a resonant passage are installed in the middle of the outdoor air introduction passage.
