  • Method for molding polyurethane seat paddings

    Abstract: A polyurethane seat padding having a center seat portion and a bank portion on either side thereof is molded by using a mold defining a cavity having a center region corresponding to the center seat portion and side regions corresponding to the bank portions, placing collecting vessels of expanded polypropylene or polyethylene in the side regions of the mold cavity, pouring a foaming polyurethane liquid for flexible foam into the cavity between the collecting vessels, pouring a foaming polyurethane liquid for rigid foam into the collecting vessels, and causing the foaming liquids to expand, thereby producing a polyurethane seat padding having the collecting vessels embedded therein.
