  • Publication number: 20060120687
Abstract: To produce a user program externally referring to an original program and to record postrecording data to the user program, ref_counter that indicates how many times the postrecording data is referred to from a user program of the postrecording data is set (S1505). The ref_counter having been set is recorded onto an optical disc, along with the user program thus produced (S1507).

  • Publication number: 20060007814
Abstract: An original stream file and an after-recording data file are managed as different files. In the original stream file, data is made up of sets of partial data (CU) divided in accordance with a predetermined interval. Likewise, in the after-recording data file, data is made up of sets of partial data (CA) divided in accordance with a predetermined interval. These sets of data are recorded onto a disc such that the after-recorded data (CA) is recorded in a region adjacent to a relevant original stream (CU). This allows reproduction and real-time after-recording with the use of a general MPEG-2 PS/TS decoder. Moreover, this allows realization of data recording that causes less interruption of reproduction when non-destructive editing is carried out with respect to an after-recorded result.

  • Publication number: 20050157599
Abstract: In write-once media, there occurs wasted recording space at the time of update of an index file for AV file management. In view of this, a new index file is generated at the time of update, and thumbnail image data in an existing index file is referred to, whereby the wasted space is reduced, At the same time, attribute information is stored in the new index file, whereby high-speed access to minimum information required can be realized.

  • Publication number: 20040267821
Abstract: The objective of the present invention is to manage reference movies using an index file, without causing the user to be perplexed. the reference movies are generated because of, for instance, the upper limit of the file size. The index file manages sets of information regarding the files being managed. Examples of these sets of information are information for determining whether or not a file is presented to the user, information for determining whether or not a file is original, and information indicating whether or not nondestructive editing has been done. Based on such information, the erasure, displaying a list, and so on are carried out. Thus, it is possible to manage the reference movies using the index file, without causing the user to be perplexed.

  • Publication number: 20040170394
Abstract: A system records an AV stream composed of a plurality of record units (RUs) containing independently reproducible video units (VUs) of at least video or audio and program information (Movie atom) managing the AV stream, onto a recording medium. The program information contains a piece of information (Edit list atom) that manages a point of junction between the record units or between AV streams. In decoding the AV stream, decoding is halted or decoders are switched at the point of junction, based on the management information on the points of junction, for example.

  • Publication number: 20030163449
Abstract: When the management area and the actual data area are separated beforehand in a filesystem and the management area is replicated to perform backup, the maximum number of files to be managed will be limited by the size of the management area because it is necessary to reserve the management area and the backup management area beforehand. In a filesystem in which the management area and the data area are recorded into a common area, it is impossible to use a replicating technique of the entire management area since there is no concept of the management area.

  • Publication number: 20030076764
Abstract: When one recording medium is accessed from a multiple number of applications, the medium is usually divided into multiple areas. If this area division is performed and managed by the partitioning, it is difficult to change the partitions in size. Therefore, there has been the problem that the recording medium can not be used effectively. The recording medium is divided into multiple areas, and for each area, a dummy data is written into the blank space in the area so that dummy data can only be overwritten using a particular application or with a file of a particular type. This configuration makes it easy to divide the medium into multiple areas and change the areas in size.

  • Patent number: 5715797
Abstract: A fuel supply system for an engine having no fuel return pipe is disclosed. In steps target fuel is set according to an engine operating state. Thereafter, a target current value to be supplied to the motor of a fuel pump according to the target fuel pressure is obtained. In the succeeding step, an actual motor current is detected and, then, the target current value and the detcted current are compared. Thereafter, the supply current is controlled by feedback based upon the difference obtained by comparison between the target current value and the detected current value to eliminate the difference.

  • Patent number: 5574566
Abstract: In an apparatus of digitally recording and reproducing video signals, when video signal data in one image frame is divided into a multiple-number of parts (N-parts) by dividing the image frame into N-divided rectangular regions and the N-parts of data are recorded on respective N tracks, each rectangular region is divided into blocks each having a multiple number of pixels and the thus generated blocks is subjected to a bit reduction coding operation. In recording the blocks, each of blocks are recorded onto a corresponding track in such a sequence that the blocks are scanned in a reciprocating manner along short-side directions of the rectangular region on the image frame. When the data is reproduced in a varied speed playback mode, the data are modified by every short-side row of blocks to thereby provide a high-quality playback picture at the varied speed.

  • Patent number: 5258851
Abstract: In a VTR for TCI signals, horizontal synchronizing signal with different time width is inserted for identifying the chrominance signal component multiplexed in each recording line at the time of recording. At the time of reproduction, this horizontal synchronizing signal is separated to generate a signal identifying the chrominance signal component in the corresponding recording line. The chrominance signal sequence in the reproduced TCI signal indicated by the identification signal and the proper sequence of the chrominance signal process are compared, where both sequences are made to coincide with each other when there is discrepancy between both sequences to prevent the generation of hue error on a monitor.

  • Patent number: 5245482
Abstract: A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus includes a plurality of heads attached on a rotary drum, a driver for driving the heads and a tape, head switching circuitry for producing one video signal by switching video signals picked up by the plurality of heads, video signal processing circuitry for processing the video signal produced by the head switching circuitry, and head switching point control circuitry for controlling the head switching circuitry so that the point of the head switching by the head switching circuit is included in the horizontal blanking period of the video signal. The head switching is performed within the horizontal blanking period of the video signal, and therefore no skew due to the head switching is generated in the reproduced video image.

  • Patent number: 5220435
Abstract: A MUSE signal recording/reproducing apparatus for converting a MUSE signal into a digital signal and for recording/reproducing the same, including an HDVTR, a signal processing device, and a control device for controlling the HDVTR and the signal processing device. The HDVTR is a device capable of recording/reproducing effective lines and effective picture elements of a high definition television signal. The signal processing device performs A/D conversion and multiplex processing of two synchronizing MUSE signals to convert the same into frequency double that of a MUSE signal, and further performs rate conversion corresponding to recording frequency and phase of the HDVTR. The HDVTR records the rate-converted data.

  • Patent number: 5148290
Abstract: In a VTR for a TCI signal, time-base correction and TCI decode processing are applied to the reproduced TCI signal of each channel and also to the corresponding dropout signals. According to the resulting dropout signal for luminance signal and the dropout signal for chrominance signal, the dropout section of a luminance signal and the dropout section of a chrominance signal are respectively compensated for. As a result, a luminance signal may have the data of the dropout section compensated for with data of a highly correlated luminance signal of 1H before and 1H after the horizontal period where dropout occurs. The dropout compensation circuits can be simplified since the luminance and chrominance signals are processed by separate circuits.

  • Patent number: 5119194
Abstract: A distortion compensation circuit of a VTR detects distortion of an input ramp signal during a blanking period of a reproduced video signal and compensates the distortion of the entire reproduced video signal. The input ramp signal included in the digital reproduced video signal is compared with a comparison ramp signal equal to a ramp signal to be recorded and the difference thereof can be obtained as a compensation data signal. During the blanking period of the reproduced video signal, the compensation data signal is stored in a compensating memory, using the input ramp signal as an address signal, and during a non-blanking period, the contents of the compensating memory are read out, using the reproduced video signal itself as an address signal. The read compensation data signal is added to the reproduced video signal, whereby distortion of the reproduced video signal is compensated.
