  • Patent number: 8892909
Abstract: A data processor comprises a decoder for decoding the compressed data into decoded data while reading the compressed data from a first data storage, a second data storage for storing therein the decoded data, a DA converter for converting the decoded data into an analog signal while reading the decoded data in real-time, a first controller for controlling the decoder to perform intermittent operation by executing a process between reading the compressed data and storing the decoded data at a speed faster than real-time, a clock/power controller for making a restriction of power consumption of the decoder and the first controller in downtime of the intermittent operation, a second controller for outputting a control signal in accordance with the storage state of the decoded data, and an activation controller for controlling the clock/power controller to lift the restriction in response to reception of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 8463106
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a contents reproducing device which can perform an intermittent operation with improved responsiveness to user request. The contents reproducing device according to the present invention includes: an input operation unit (1100), a system state managing unit (1210), a system information storing unit (1220), a contents reproduction control unit (A) (1230), a state after next candidate extracting unit (1240), a contents reproduction control determining unit (1250), and a contents reproducing unit (1300). The contents reproduction control determining unit (1250) determines whether or not a candidate related to the contents reproduction control is in the state after next candidates extracted by the state after next candidate extracting unit (1240).

  • Publication number: 20040207610
Abstract: The characteristic-detecting unit is operable to detect characteristics from a first or second information terminal unit-captured image. The first information terminal unit-captured image has been obtained by an image input unit. The second information terminal unit-captured image has been decoded by an image-decoding unit. The characteristic-detecting unit is further operable to control an image-encoding unit, an image-displaying unit, the image-decoding unit, or the image input unit in accordance with the characteristic information. The control system provides a reduced amount of processing required for image encoding, either stops displaying the images or displays fewer images, either stops transferring the images from the image-decoding unit to the image-displaying unit or transfers fewer images therebetween in the same transfer direction, and provides fewer image-captured frames. This feature provides an information terminal unit characterized by thrifty power consumption.
