  • Patent number: 10423269
Abstract: An electronic device is provided with a touch panel of a capacitive type and a controller. The controller, based on a detection value of the touch panel, detects capacitance generated between the touch panel and a contact object and detects, as a contact region, a first region having the capacitance smaller than a capacitance of the other region of the touch panel.

    Filed: August 30, 2016
Date of Patent: September 24, 2019
    Assignee: KYOCERA Corporation
Inventors: Manabu Sakuma, Yudai Nagata, Masanori Morobishi, Taro Iio, Takayuki Fujiki, Yuya Yamaguchi, Makoto Honjo
  • Patent number: 10228804
Abstract: A mobile device includes an acceleration sensor, a touch screen and a controller. The acceleration sensor is capable of detecting a direction and a magnitude of acceleration acting on the mobile device. The touch screen is capable of measuring electrostatic distribution. The controller is capable of executing an estimation whether the mobile device is being immersed in water based on the electrostatic distribution. The controller periodically executes the estimation upon determining that the mobile device is moving in a direction opposite to a gravity direction based on the direction and the magnitude of the acceleration when estimating that the mobile device is being immersed in water.
